BorgWarner is seeking a Software Test Engineer II – HIL in Darmstadt, Germany, to shape automated HIL validation for battery systems and to improve test environments, software quality and coverage.

You will develop and maintain automated tests for embedded software, plan and document tests, and collaborate with software, systems and project teams, including hardware work on benches.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics or a comparable technical field.
• Several years of experience in software testing, ideally in automotive, embedded systems or electrification.
• Practical experience with HIL systems, test automation and requirements-based testing.
• Strong hands-on mentality with willingness to work on test benches, electronics, wiring and hardware troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of Python, C/C++, CAPL, MATLAB/Simulink or comparable tools/languages.
• Structured, analytical mindset and enthusiasm for complex technical challenges.
• Strong communication skills, ownership and motivation to improve testing processes sustainably.
• Basic understanding of electrical schematics, measurement equipment and automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN or Ethernet
