Nanoscribe in the Karlsruhe area is seeking a Software Engineer (m/f/d) Python & 3D Printing to join our software team developing control software for high-precision 3D laser printers, from a touch UI to geometry processing and hardware control.

You will design algorithms across the stack, collaborate with domain experts on R&D projects, and contribute ideas to product definitions, including near-hardware interfacing and AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifikationen

• Successful studies in computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering.
• Several years of software engineer experience with strong architecture knowledge.
• Fluent in Python and comfortable in a large codebase.
• Experience with numerical algorithms, GPU graphics, and computational geometry is a plus.

For our office in the Karlsruhe area we are looking for a Software Engineer (m/f/d) Python & 3D Printing in full time.

Job Description

The software engineering team at Nanoscribe develops software for controlling high-precision 3D laser printers. The software is a stack of modules that covers everything from a touch-based user interface to numerical algorithms and 3D geometry processing to the control of different hardware components such as sensors, cameras, etc. The software stack follows a layered client/server architecture, with different communication protocols connecting the layers.

As part of our software engineering team, you will work closely with engineers and domain experts on various R&D projects. You will have the chance to bring in your own ideas and contribute to product definitions.

Your Day-to-day Tasks Will Include

• Discussing and clarifying requirements with our internal domain experts
• Breaking requirements down into manageable work packages, estimating effort, and identifying technical dependencies
• Designing and developing algorithms that span and are optimized across various layers of our software stack
• Designing and developmenting software that interacts with specific hardware components
• Continuously optimizing the functionality and quality of the software for better scalability, maintainability and performance

Your profile

• You have successfully completed your studies in computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering
• You have several years of experience as a software engineer, with a solid understanding of software architecture and design principles
• You are fluent in Python and can find your way in a large codebase
• You are familiar with AI-assisted development workflows and best practices for productive, responsible use of AI coding tools
• Experience with numerical algorithms, GPU graphics, and computational geometry on 3D meshes is a plus
• Experience with near-hardware programming, such as interfacing to cameras and sensors, or FPGA development is a plus
• Knowledge of software security principles and secure coding practices is a plus
• You are motivated, enjoy working in a team, and appreciate clean code
