For a complex, multi-system transformation project, we are looking for an experienced Solution Architect on a freelance basis. The Solution Architect will provide an end-to-end view of the overall solution landscape and will ensure that business requirements, technical components, interfaces and architectural dependencies are consistently understood and aligned. A key objective of the assignment is to create transparency regarding the existing and required solution architecture, identify gaps and dependencies and ensure that necessary architectural decisions are taken and documented. The role requires strong experience in complex enterprise environments involving multiple applications, interfaces, internal stakeholders and external solution providers. Experience in a specific industry or with one particular software product is not required.

• Coordinate architectural topics across internal teams, external partners and solution providers
• Define and document architectural principles, responsibilities and decision criteria
• Establish and maintain an architecture decision log
• Identify architectural risks, gaps and unresolved dependencies
• Prepare options and recommendations for critical solution decisions
• Facilitate architecture and solution alignment workshops
• Ensure that interface responsibilities and integration requirements are clearly defined
• Assess the impact of changes across the overall solution landscape
• Support planning for data, testing, deployment and operational readiness from an architectural perspective
• Review solution designs and challenge technical assumptions where necessary
• Support the project leadership in assessing technical feasibility, risks and go-live readiness
• Ensure that architectural decisions are documented, communicated and followed through to implementation

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a Solution Architect in complex enterprise or transformation environments
• Proven experience in designing and managing end-to-end solution architectures involving multiple applications and providers
• Strong understanding of system integration, interfaces, data flows and technical dependencies
• Experience in translating business requirements into coherent solution and integration concepts
• Ability to identify gaps, inconsistencies and unresolved dependencies within complex solution landscapes
• Strong experience in managing and documenting architectural decisions
• Experience in coordinating architecture topics across business, IT, implementation teams and external solution providers
• Ability to evaluate solution options and clearly communicate technical risks, implications and recommendations
