Miltenyi Biotec is seeking an experienced software engineer to join our agile software team. You will apply AI-assisted development across the software lifecycle and own the quality of AI-generated output, architecture and code.

You will translate complex requirements into robust software, enable device integration and interoperability across diverse systems, and collaborate with product owners, developers and verification specialists to deliver high-quality software.

Join our agile Software Team and bring together excellent software engineering, smart medical-device ecosystems and the responsible use of AI. You will apply AI-assisted development throughout our software lifecycle, critically evaluate its output and retain full ownership of the resulting code and architecture.

• You will translate architectural concepts and complex requirements into robust, scalable and maintainable software.


• You will use AI-assisted engineering tools throughout the development lifecycle, from solution design and code generation to refactoring, testing and bug fixing and ensure that every AI-generated result meets our quality and engineering standards.


• You will develop software capabilities that allow diverse devices, applications, data models and external systems to interact reliably and support the same functional need across different technical and customer-specific scenarios.


• You will act as a key user and sparring partner for AI-enhanced software development and help the team continuously improve its engineering workflows without losing critical oversight.


• You will work in a cross-functional agile team of product owners, feature owners, software developers, verification specialists, and DevOps engineers to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• You have completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Physics or a comparable discipline, or have an equivalent professional qualification.


• You demonstrate strong expertise in serviceoriented software development and experience in software for device integration, connectivity, synchronization or service-oriented software development.


• You have an AI-first-Mindset, (first) practical experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude or Codex, and a strong drive to use them extensively while retaining full accountability for architectural decisions, code quality, and product outcomes => Human-in-the-loop (HITL).


• You bring strong software engineering expertise and a passion for developing clean, maintainable, and high-performance software, with solid proficiency in modern C++ or Go.


• You have excellent communication skills and fluent English (B2+); Germanwould be a plus.
