Your responsibilities
- You design and develop embedded software for FRITZ!OS.
- You translate complex requirements into modular architectures and robust, maintainable software.
- You take ownership of enhancements, adaptations and performance optimizations for the Linux kernel and drivers.
- You develop software for specialized SoCs with integrated hardware-offloading components for networking functions.
- You develop analysis and testing strategies to optimize FRITZ!OS, focusing on areas such as measurability, reproducibility and regression testing.
- You design, implement and maintain complex, cross-system software components - from the kernel to the application layer.
Your profile
- Several years of experience in the Embedded Linux kernel space within product development or production environments.
- Excellent C skills in low-level, hardware-oriented systems programming, knowledge of Python and, ideally, Rust.
- Hands‑on networking and data‑path experience, including a solid understanding of Ethernet and TCP/IP, as well as experience debugging QoS, throughput, latency and packet‑loss issues.
- Proven experience with the Linux kernel and drivers, including kernel analysis and debugging, modifications and backports, Device Tree, kernel configuration and the network stack.
- Deep knowledge of the SoC‑level stack, including ARM cores, DMA, interrupt handling, MMUs and memory layouts, as well as experience with real‑time systems and system‑level memory and performance optimization.
- Experience with hardware‑accelerated networking and network offloading.
- Confident use of Git and practical experience with established code‑review processes.
- Native‑level English or English proficiency at C1 level or above; knowledge of German is a plus.
