Stealth Rocketry Startup is seeking a Senior Propulsion Engineer to lead solid rocket motor propulsion projects from requirements through design, manufacture, testing and production readiness.

This end-to-end role demands hands-on hardware experience, strong propulsion knowledge, and the ability to drive projects in a fast-moving, autonomous team. You will work with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, scalable solutions.

Qualifikationen

Aufgaben

• Own propulsion projects from requirements to production-ready hardware.
• Perform and review design/analysis of internal ballistics, grain geometry, nozzles, structures, motor cases.
• Coordinate design, manufacture, assembly, instrumentation, static-fire testing and post-test analysis.
• Collaborate with chemistry/manufacturing to select materials and propellants meeting performance/production needs.
• Prepare technical documentation, reviews, test plans and analysis reports.
• Support qualification, demonstrations, productionisation and mentoring of junior engineers.

We are looking for a Senior Propulsion Engineer to own solid rocket motor propulsion projects from requirements through design, manufacture, testing, iteration, and production readiness. This is an end-to-end role for an engineer who wants to see a product through to a working result rather than owning only one isolated part of the design process.

We’re a Germany-based rocketry startup currently in stealth mode, scaling up rapidly to meet the demand for high-performance, reliable, and scalable solid propulsion technologies for space and defense applications.

We are already launching suborbital and ballistic rockets on a regular basis, generating significant revenue and applying our knowledge toward the development of an orbital rocket.

Key responsibilities

• Own small-to-medium propulsion projects from requirements definition to tested and production-ready hardware.
• Perform and review design and analysis covering relevant aspects of internal ballistics, grain geometry, performance, nozzles, structures, and motor cases.
• Coordinate design, manufacture, assembly, instrumentation, static-fire testing, post-test analysis, and redesign.
• Work with chemistry and manufacturing teams to select materials and propellant solutions that meet performance and production requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, design reviews, test plans, and analysis reports.
• Support qualification, customer demonstrations, productionisation, and the development of junior engineers.

What we are looking for

• A degree in aerospace, mechanical, chemical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional experience in propulsion, aerospace hardware, experimental engineering, or a closely related field.
• The ability to take ownership of a technical problem or project and carry it through to a working result.
• Working knowledge of several propulsion disciplines, combined with strong engineering fundamentals.
• Experience moving between computer-based analysis and hands-on work with hardware.
• A proactive, self-managing approach and the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving team.
• Direct experience designing, manufacturing, or testing solid rocket motors.
• Propellant formulation, characterisation, or energetic materials.
• Static-fire testing and analysis of pressure, force, temperature, or other instrumentation data.
