Zusammenfassung

Great American Risk Solutions is seeking a Senior Production Underwriter to join its Binding Authority team, focusing on non-admitted P&C risks. The role may lead a team of underwriters and involves underwriting in the Northeast region, with remote work in the United States and on-site days for certain locations.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of underwriting experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and progression toward recognized certifications (AU/CPCU/CIC/INS/ARM). Travel up to 35% is required.

Qualifikationen

  • Experience underwriting in the Northeast region of the United States.
  • Surplus lines Binding Authority underwriting experience preferred.
  • Recent experience underwriting general liability, property and inland marine required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Liberal Arts or a related discipline.
  • Generally, 3-6 years of related underwriting experience.
  • Progression toward certification in area of expertise preferred; appropriate certifications could include AU, CPCU, CIC, INS or ARM.
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time.

Aufgaben

  • Develops and implements strategic underwriting plans with manager for direct reports and assigned territory including initiatives that support growth, profitability, retention, and high levels of customer service.
  • Develops and maintains strategic business relationships with external general agents in order to attract and retain profitable business.
  • Provides leadership, direction and underwriting assistance in the risk selection and resolution of underwriting issues for direct reports and general agents.
  • Provides direct report management through performance management, coaching and development, talent selection, product training and allocating underwriting authority.
  • Monitors the composition, performance and business mix of the assigned territory portfolio to achieve division’s underwriting profitability goals.
  • Has responsibility for risk selection/rejection, pricing, and applies underwriting rules and guidelines.
  • Works on product development projects to develop underwriting guidelines, rates, forms, applications and appetite that align with the strategic direction of the assigned territory and the division.
  • Conducts regular virtual and in-person visits with appointed general agents to retain existing accounts, build and maintain business relationships, and develop new opportunities in support of divisional objectives.
  • Represents the division, as requested by manager, in internal and external meetings, events, and committees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Great American Risk Solutions is currently searching for a Senior Production Underwriter to join the Great American Risk Solutions Binding Authority team. The ideal candidate will analyze, underwrite and manage a book of Property and Casualty risks written through select MGAs for the Binding Authority Division. This individual will underwrite non-admitted general liability, property and inland marine accounts in the Northeast regions. Depending on the candidates background and experience, they may also be responsible for leading a team by providing technical guidance and management to a team of underwriters.

This individual will work 100% remote in the United States, ideally in the Northeast. Candidates located within the Greater Cincinnati area are expected to be on-site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in-office days are Tuesday–Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Liberal Arts or a related discipline.
  • Generally, 3-6 years of related underwriting experience.
  • Progression toward certification in area of expertise preferred; appropriate certifications could include Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Program in General Insurance (INS) or Associate of Risk Management (ARM).
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time.

$80,000.00 -$120,000.00
