elearnio GmbH is seeking a Senior Product Designer (UX/UI) to own the look and feel of our platform. You will be the sole designer, responsible for visual language, interaction patterns and the design system across a growing SaaS product.

Work remotely within EU time zones, with direct access to customers, and a strong emphasis on WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility. You will drive design-led topics from discovery through to concept, shipping high-quality interfaces.

Qualifikationen

• Several years designing complex, logic-heavy B2B or SaaS products with strong visual direction.
• Strong visual craft: typography, hierarchy, spacing and information density in data-heavy interfaces.
• Deep fluency in a modern design tool, including building and maintaining component libraries.
• Comfortable designing for localisation; the interface ships in 15 languages, including German and English.
• Responsive and mobile design, including access via phones.

elearnio is a learning platform for digital preboarding, onboarding and continuous training. Companies use us to combine their own content, mandatory compliance training and external courses into structured learning experiences for their employees, partners and customers. Our customers are primarily mid-sized businesses in the DACH region.

We are a small, remote-first team. Decisions get made by a handful of people who all know the product, so there is very little between having a good idea and it being agreed.

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer (UX/UI) to work remotely from anywhere within EU time zones. You will be our only designer, and you will own how elearnio looks and feels. That is a broad remit. Every screen our customers touch is your responsibility, across a platform that covers a lot of ground.

Tasks

• Own the visual and interaction design language of the entire platform, and hold it together across a product that keeps growing
• Turn product concepts into wireframes, then into build-ready design files with states, edge cases, responsive behaviour and interaction detail
• Own our design system: the component library, tokens, and keeping it honest against what is actually implemented in the frontend
• Design to WCAG 2.1 AA. Accessibility comes up more and more in DACH procurement, and we would rather build it in than retrofit it
• Run design QA together with our QA team, so what ships matches what was designed
• Run customer interviews and usability tests, in support of discovery and to validate your own concepts
• Build up genuine depth in our product and in corporate learning and development as an industry, so your decisions come from understanding the domain rather than from generic patterns
• Write the microcopy that goes with your designs, in English and ideally German
• Grow into driving design-led topics yourself, from proposal through to concept

How we work together

Being clear about this up front, because it is the thing candidates most often get a surprise about.

• Product discovery and concepts sit with our Head of Product. He runs that process and writes the specs, so you will not be starting from a blank page. But what we build and why is decided as a team, and talking to customers is something several of us do.
• You own how it gets designed. Interaction, layout, visual language, the design system, and the quality of what actually ships. Within the problem, the solution is yours, and you are expected to push back when the proposed approach is the wrong one.
• Design-led topics become yours to drive. Not on day one. But once you know the product and the industry, we would expect you to bring your own proposals for the things design should be leading, whether that is navigation, information architecture or a visual overhaul, and to take them through the concept phase yourself rather than waiting for a spec. That is what we are looking for at senior level rather than mid.

Requirements

• Several years designing complex, logic-heavy B2B or SaaS products, including at least one you shaped visually over a longer period
• Strong visual craft. Typography, hierarchy, spacing and information density in data-heavy interfaces, and the judgement to make a dense admin tool feel calm
• Deep fluency in a modern design tool, including building and maintaining component libraries
• Comfortable designing for localisation. The interface ships in 15 languages. You will design in German and English, but layouts need to hold up when strings run considerably longer or shorter
• Responsive and mobile design, including users who only ever access the platform on a phone
• You can run interviews and usability tests yourself, and turn what you hear into design decisions
• Fluent English

Nice to have

• German good enough to run customer interviews in it
• Experience designing within an established product, not only greenfield work
• Experience with multi-tenant products where customers apply their own branding

Not part of this role

Brand, marketing and website design. This is a product role, full stop. If your portfolio is mainly campaigns, landing pages and visual identity, we are probably not a good match.
