The Opportunity

Our client is one of Germany's fastest-growing technology companies, building an AI-native platform for accounting, payroll and tax for SMEs across Europe.

As a Senior Product Builder, you'll own a core area of the product end-to-end. This isn't a traditional Product role — you'll work directly alongside senior engineers, prototype ideas, write specs when needed and use AI tools to build and ship, rather than simply manage a roadmap.

You'll spend time with users, understand how their workflows operate and turn manual, complex processes into simple, AI-powered products.

This is an onsite role based in Berlin, working closely with the founders and senior engineering team.

What You'll Do

• Own a core product area from discovery through to release and iteration
• Prototype ideas yourself and work closely with engineers to ship production features
• Spend time with users and domain experts to understand real-world problems
• Learn complex accounting and payroll workflows and understand what "correct" means
• Design workflows that are accurate, auditable and traceable
• Identify where AI can automate work and where human oversight remains important
• Turn manual processes into AI-powered agents and workflows
• Prioritise features based on customer impact and measurable time saved
• Make product decisions across discovery, prioritisation, release and iteration
• Work directly with the CTO and founders to shape the product

Your Experience

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience building products from 0 to 1
• Is highly hands-on and enjoys prototyping and shipping
• Can take an idea and turn it into something users can use
• Uses AI tools such as Claude, Cursor or OpenAI to build and move faster
• Thinks in systems and can bring clarity to complex or ambiguous problems
• Is comfortable operating independently and taking ownership
• Has a strong product instinct and knows when to ship rather than over-engineer
• Can balance a high-quality bar with speed and iteration
• Is fluent in German and English

Particularly Relevant Experience

• Experience in fintech or building products within accounting, payroll, banking or other financial domains
• Experience working with complex systems involving significant state, edge cases and integrations
• Experience where accuracy, auditability and regulatory requirements are critical
• Familiarity with German tax, accounting or regulatory requirements for SMEs
• Previous experience in an early-stage startup or scale-up environment
