Zusammenfassung

Tradebyte, an independent unit within the Zalando Group, is seeking a DevOps-focused engineer to strengthen its global engineering platform. You will work on cloud-native design, automation, and security practices to support scalable services used across e-commerce partners.

The role emphasizes automation, IaC with Terraform, configuration management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enable a seamless run-it-yourself culture while maintaining high security and reliability

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of experience as a Platform/DevOps Engineer or similar role.
• Proven ability to drive X-as-a-Service solutions independently.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices and development productivity topics.

THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

In this role, we are looking for a DevOps-focused engineer with strong expertise in modern cloud and automation practices, including AWS, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and configuration management. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with a software engineering mindset, understanding developers' needs, challenges, and workflows. A strong security focus is essential, with experience applying operational security principles, tools, and methodologies to build and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient platforms.

• As part of the Digital Foundation, you’ll join a professional agile team helping to shape the future direction of TRADEBYTE’s global engineering platform.
• Design, develop and maintain solutions that optimize our global engineering platform to maximize value for our users.
• Push our global engineering platform to be reliable, robust, and state of the art.
• Work with engineering teams to find the balance between operational excellence and new initiatives which bring value to our users.
• Help with questions and inquiries around our global engineering platforms which includes our CI/CD tools, AWS landscape, and other systems.
• Facilitate engineering teams in the adoption of DevOps practices and pushing a “you built it, you run it” culture.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• Experienced (3+ years) and highly collaborative engineer with a strong growth mindset and a track record in independently driving X-as-a-Service solutions.
• Experience working as a Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer within an agile organization and demonstrated ability to use tools like AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Python, Go, Chef, and Terraform to build robust, scalable, and user-focused solutions.
• Profound understanding of the DevOps practices and development productivity topics.
• You take ownership of your work – from understanding the requirements, to implementation, testing, and maintenance.
• Knowledge in any of the following areas is a plus: software development, quality assurance, or product management.
