Verda is hiring a Senior People Operations Specialist to scale our Europe-wide People Operations function. The role combines hands-on HR administration with process improvements, supporting employees and managers across the lifecycle.

You will manage payroll, benefits, records, and compliance in a multi-country setup (Europe, US, APAC) and partner with external providers to ensure a high-quality employee experience. This is a hybrid Helsinki-based role.

Qualifikationen

Overview

At Verda, we are building a fully featured European AI cloud to train, experiment with, and deploy AI models at scale. We design, operate, and optimize the compute powering modern AI workloads across training and inference, powered by 100% renewable energy. We are growing internationally and seeking a Senior People Operations Specialist to help scale and strengthen our People Operations function. This is a hands‑on role that combines operational excellence with continuous improvement, ensuring People processes run smoothly and supporting employees and managers across the employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve core People Operations processes across the employee lifecycle, ensuring a seamless experience from onboarding through offboarding.
• Manage employment administration, maintain accurate employee records, and coordinate payroll and benefits processes with internal and external partners.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on People policies, processes, and employment-related matters while maintaining a high‑quality employee experience.
• Collaborate with the Head of People Operations to build scalable ways of working by improving People systems, automating workflows, and strengthening operational processes.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, improve data quality, and enhance the employee experience through better tools and processes.
• Support compliance efforts and maintain high standards of data privacy and documentation; collaborate with stakeholders across the business to scale People Operations effectively.
• Support payroll, benefits, and HR administration in a multi-country setup (Europe, US, APAC) and ensure alignment with local employment laws.

Qualifications

• Experience in People Operations, HR Administration, or a similar HR role.
• Strong understanding of employment law in a multi-country setup (Europe, US, APAC) and HR administration practices.
• Experience supporting payroll and benefits processes.
• Experience working with HR systems and HRIS platforms (e.g., HiBob).
• Proven ability to improve processes, drive operational excellence, and support organizational growth.
• Strong attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; service‑oriented with a focus on the employee experience.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of outcomes.

• Experience in a technology, cloud, AI, or scale‑up environment.
• Experience supporting international or multi-country teams.
• Experience working with EOR/PEO providers.
• Experience implementing HR systems or process improvements.

• Location: Helsinki.
• Hybrid mode: 3-4 days per week in the Helsinki office.
• Employment type: Full-time and permanent.
