NECT GmbH in Hamburg recruits a Senior Machine Learning Anti-Spoof Expert to design, build and operate large-scale identity-verification ML systems. You will work with ML scientists, backend engineers, DevOps, and product stakeholders to productionize advanced AI models powering millions of users daily.

You bring a PhD/MSc in CS or related field, 5+ years of ML engineering, fraud-prevention experience, biometric data expertise, strong Python, and a track record deploying ML in production with

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of Machine Learning Engineering experience
• Experience with fraud prevention and detection on media (videos/images) and anti-spoofing.
• Experience with biometric/media data (images, videos, audio) including face recognition, selfie verification, voice analysis, and ideally deepfake detection
• Combination of industry experience and a strong research background
• Strong Python skills
• Proven experience building, deploying, and operating ML systems in production environments
• Strong expertise in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, ML Pipelines, and MLOps
• Fluent English skills required

About the role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Expert to design, build, deploy, and optimize large-scale machine learning systems powering next-generation identity verification products. In this role, you will collaborate closely with ML scientists, backend engineers, DevOps teams, and product stakeholders to productionize advanced AI models used by millions of users every day. At Nect, you will have the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art machine learning technologies in biometrics, computer vision, and fraud prevention while helping shape scalable AI infrastructure for real-world applications.

You are responsible for:

Machine Learning Engineering

• Design, develop, deploy, and optimize machine learning systems for identity verification products at scale.


• Productionize advanced AI and deep learning models in collaboration with ML scientists and engineering teams.


• Improve model performance, reliability, scalability, and inference efficiency.


• Build and maintain robust ML pipelines for training, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.


• Optimize real-time inference systems for high-throughput production environments.

Backend & Infrastructure

• Develop scalable Python-based backend services and microservices architectures.


• Deploy ML models through REST APIs and real-time inference services.


• Work with distributed systems and cloud-native infrastructure.

Collaboration & Technical Contribution

• Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Security teams.


• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.

You bring with you:
