Orion Innovation is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to lead the evolution of our mobile apps with AI-powered features. You will bridge the mobile squad with the customer team, architect scalable solutions, and drive architecture for rapid AI integration.

The role requires mentoring junior engineers, setting standards, and collaborating with Product and Backend teams to deliver high-impact AI-enabled experiences. Remote, hybrid, or office work options are available.

We are looking for a proactive Senior Mobile Engineer to lead the evolution of our mobile applications through the integration of Artificial Intelligence. This is not a passive development role; we need a technical leader who will support our current team, challenge the status quo, and drive the architecture of AI-powered features.
You will serve as the bridge between the mobile squad and the customer team, ensuring that complex models are efficiently deployed to native iOS and Android environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. AI-Driven Development & Integration

• Architect and implement robust, scalable solutions while making sure current codebase is evaluated; propose solutions to address risks and concerns
• Optimize app performance to ensure seamless experience
• Stay ahead of the curve by evaluating new AI frameworks and tools to improve the development of lifecycle

2. Technical Leadership & Mentorship

• Act as a technical lead for the mobile development pod, providing mentorship and code reviews to mid-level developers
• Set coding standards, best practices, and architectural patterns specifically tailored for AI-powered mobile solutions
• Proactively identify technical debt and risks, proposing mitigation strategies before they become blockers

3. Architecture & Strategy

• Lead architecture discussions to define the future state of the mobile platform, ensuring it is modular, testable, and ready for rapid AI integration
• Collaborate with Product and Backend teams to design APIs that serve AI features efficiently

4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

• Manage and facilitate communication with multiple stakeholders, including Product Managers and Products Owners, UX/UI Designers, Backend Engineers.
• Proactively manage customer communication regarding technical constraints and be able to translate complex technical jargon into business -friendly language for customer-facing discussions

Required Qualifications:

Experience:

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in mobile development (Native iOS with Swift/Objective-C and/or Native Android with Kotlin/Java).
• Proven experience leading a technical project or mentoring junior engineers.
• Demonstrated experience shipping applications that utilize AI/ML
• Nice to Have: Experience working in larger teams (10+ engineers) and complex enterprise codebases.

Technical Skills:

• Deep understanding of mobile architecture patterns
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Bitrise) and automated testing (Unit, UI, and Integration tests).
• Strong knowledge of performance profiling and memory management on mobile devices.
• Experience with Generative AI
• Experience with cross-platform tooling (Flutter/React Native) is a bonus, but native expertise is mandatory.
• Published apps in the App Store/Google Play with significant user bases.
