About the Role

An innovative infrastructure specialist is seeking a sharp, security-minded Senior Infrastructure & Security Engineer to help build out a high-performance colocation environment and ensure robust end-to-end security.

The position involves deploying a blend of bare-metal Linux servers and high-density NVIDIA GPU nodes designed for enterprise workloads. Security is the top priority, requiring an engineer who thoroughly understands physical hardware, network engineering, and system hardening.

What You’ll Do

• Hardware Setup: Rack, cable, network, and provision physical bare-metal servers and GPU nodes within a colocation environment.
• System Hardening: Establish strict defence-in-depth security including firewalls, segmented VLANs, zero-trust access, SSH hardening, and OS-level security policies.
• Secure Self-Hosted Tools: Harden and manage internal tooling (such as GitHub Enterprise, Nextcloud, chat platforms, and n8n) alongside dedicated customer environments.
• Monitoring & Backups: Implement comprehensive log auditing, SIEM/intrusion detection, real-time alerting, and automated offsite backups.

What You’ll Need

• Bare-Metal & Datacenter Expertise: Proven systems administration and data centre experience covering L2/L3 networking, IPMI/iDRAC, switch configuration, RAID, and Linux OS deployment.
• Security-First Mindset: Treating security as a fundamental baseline rather than an afterthought, backed by deep knowledge of network isolation, VPNs (WireGuard/Tailscale), firewall policies, and system auditing.
• Core Linux Admin & Automation: Expert-level Linux proficiency (Ubuntu, Debian, or RHEL; systemd, storage, Bash scripting) combined with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform) for bare-metal OS provisioning and automated configuration management.
• Hands-On Capability: A strong preference for working directly with hardware and a commitment to running clean, stable, and highly secure systems.

Nice-to-Haves

• Compliance Standards: Practical experience aligning environments with TISAX, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 standards.
• Tooling Integration: Familiarity with hosting n8n or LiteLLM gateways securely.
• AI Hardware: Prior experience managing NVIDIA GPU drivers, CUDA environments, and enterprise GPU nodes.
