Habitat For Humanity Of Durham seeks an experienced Data Center Infrastructure Engineer to design and optimize complex data center, network, compute, storage, and telephony systems across on-premises and cloud environments. You will work with IT stakeholders to assess requirements, maintain standards, and guide capacity planning in a dynamic hybrid environment.

The role requires 5+ years in related fields, a degree or substantial equivalent experience, and deep knowledge of data center

• Experience administering AWS cloud environments and enterprise Linux systems, including RHEL 9 and AIX.
• Hands-on expertise with Ansible and Ansible Tower for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
• Experience utilizing Red Hat Satellite for system lifecycle management, patching, and compliance activities.
• Knowledge of patch management and vulnerability remediation processes in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Understanding of security best practices and vulnerability management methodologies to support system reliability and compliance.

• Deliver guidance in production incident solutioning when required.
• Maintain standardized guidelines and procedures for solution engineering in data center environments.
• Build relationships with architecture community to maintain roadmaps and standards.
• Collaborate with vendors to ensure final product matches architecture.
• Present new technology overviews to IT and Enterprise leadership.
• Provide direction to less experienced team members as needed.

Job Description

Responsible for the engineering of various and complex aspects of both physical and cloud hosted data center infrastructures which might include network, compute, storage, platform, middleware, database and telephony. Independently analyze current and future requirements to effectively design data center infrastructure, networking and telephony systems while determining design feasibility from both technical and economic perspectives. Develop and maintain technical standards, procedures and documentation in partnership with service partners as needed. Compile and analyze operational data and directs proof of technology to establish standard for new designs or modifications to existing equipment, systems, or processes. Independently partner and consult with varied technical, business, project and management staff to identify and plan, assess data center and cloud infrastructure designs, physical data center requirements and impacts and resolve design problems.

• Participate in software and hardware licensing,financial and capacity activities that plan for the most efficient way to introduce and maintain datacenter technology within the environment.
• Proactively provide information and ongoing consultation for IT and business areas as well as vendors directly or indirectly affected by the network or data center infrastructures.
• Execute the detailed infrastructure design of larger and/or more complex internal projects collaborating with IT stakeholders, service owners and partners.
• Provide operational readiness through the engineering, planning, coordination, and execution of performance and tuning analysis, systems support, incident and problem resolution, software installation, and upgrades.
• Provide detailed guidance and consultation in solutioning production incidents when required.
• Maintain appropriate standardized guidelines, work procedures and schedules for solution engineering within the data center environment to expedite workflow and ultimately improve efficiencies.
• Build collaborative relationships with the broader architecture community to effectively maintain technical roadmaps and provide input into strategies and standards related to area of specialization.
• Collaborate with vendors on infrastructure designs to ensure the final product is what was architected or designed.
• Provide new technology overviews to IT and Enterprise leadership at varied leadership forums.
• Provide direction and assistance to less experienced team members as needed.

Salary Range
