Data4Life, a nonprofit advancing evidence-based medicine, seeks a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help build secure health solutions in collaboration with Mount Sinai Health System. You will design, implement, and ship features across frontend and backend while ensuring accessibility, performance, and security.

You will work in a diverse, international team across Potsdam, Berlin, and Singapore, with flexible work models and opportunities to impact healthcare research globally.

Qualifikationen

• University degree (M.Sc.) in CS/SE or related discipline.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering or full-stack development experience.
• Strong frontend skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React or equivalent.
• Solid backend experience: Go (Golang), Kubernetes, and Docker; PostgreSQL as the relational database.
• Professional English; German language skills are a plus.

At Data4Life, we develop secure, standards-compliant digital health solutions that empower researchers and public health institutions to advance evidence-based medicine. As a nonprofit supported by the Hasso Plattner Foundation, we build scalable research infrastructures — supporting international standards such as FHIR and OMOP — and collaborate with some of the world's leading clinical institutions.

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you will work on a medical image annotation application built in collaboration with Mount Sinai Health System in New York, one of the largest and most respected academic medical centers in the United States. Your code will support clinical researchers working with real patient data at scale.

Your future role

• Design, build, and ship high-quality frontend and backend features — writing accessible, performant, maintainable, and well-tested code.


• Contribute to software design and architecture decisions, and take part in code reviews across the full stack.


• Work closely with designers, QA, and product management as part of an integrated team to deliver well-crafted, user-centered software.


• Engage directly with customers and users — joining feedback sessions and user research to build a deep, end-to-end understanding of the product and the problems it solves.


• Design with security at the core — shaping authorization concepts and data protection architecture from the ground up, including the documentation that supports review and sign-off by our clinical partners.

What you need to succeed

• A university degree (M.Sc.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.


• 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer or full-stack developer, or equivalent experience.


• Strong frontend skills: deep fluency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript, with hands‑on experience in React or equivalent.


• Solid backend experience: proficiency in Go (Golang), Kubernetes, and Docker, or equivalent.


• Experience with relational databases; we use PostgreSQL.


• Professional written and spoken English, German language skills a plus.
