Zusammenfassung

idealo is seeking a skilled engineer to lead the development of our frontend application while contributing across the full stack. You will design, implement and maintain scalable microservices using Kotlin and TypeScript, and take end-to-end ownership from architecture to deployment.

You will shape technical direction through architecture reviews and evolve our platform, improving CI/CD, observability and IaC, while collaborating with marketing and engineering teams to ensure reliable tracking

Qualifikationen

• Several years of frontend development with TypeScript/JavaScript and backend development with Kotlin.
• Solid experience with React, Next.js, Spring Boot and building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, Kafka and messaging patterns; production ops a plus.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes, AWS and IaC tools like AWS CDK or Terraform; modern CI/CD practices.

In this role, you'll build and evolve the systems that enable our marketing channels with high-quality product and offer data, ensure accurate billing of paid traffic, and provide reliable tracking that makes marketing initiatives measurable.

You'll work across the full stack using Kotlin, TypeScript, React, Kafka and AWS while taking ownership of services from design to production. When a feature goes live and runs smoothly, you see the direct impact of your work.

About your new role

• Lead the development of our latest frontend application while contributing across the full stack.

• Design, implement and maintain robust, scalable microservices using Kotlin, TypeScript and related technologies.

• Take end-to-end ownership of your services - from architecture and implementation to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.

• Shape our technical direction through architecture decisions, technical design reviews and the long-term evolution of our platform.

• Improve our engineering platform by advancing CI/CD pipelines, observability and Infrastructure as Code practices.

• Collaborate closely with marketing and engineering teams across idealo to deliver reliable tracking and billing systems while continuously raising engineering quality through clean code, testing, pair programming, code reviews, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Skills & Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in frontend development with TypeScript/JavaScript and backend development with Kotlin.

• Solid experience with React, Next. js, Spring Boot and building RESTful APIs.

• Experience with event-driven architectures, Kafka and messaging patterns. Experience operating these systems in production is a strong plus.

• Hands-on experience working with Kubernetes, AWS and Infrastructure as Code tools such as AWS CDK or Terraform, alongside modern CI/CD practices.

• You take ownership and independently drive topics forward.

• The confidence to speak up and challenge ideas constructively, paired with openness to diverse perspectives.
