Then come and join our global team as Senior Expert (f/m/d) for Origin & FTA. As part of our Global Export Control & Customs organization, you will act as a subject matter expert for rules of origin and free trade agreements, shaping global standards, processes, and governance across regions.
Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.
Even more flexibility? Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries.
You independently assess, apply, and validate preferential and non-preferential rules of origin, perform origin calculations, maintain supporting documentation, and translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
You drive analysis, implementation, and application of EU FTAs and global trade agreements (e.g., USMCA, ASEAN, RCEP), while identifying duty-saving opportunities and contributing to supply chain optimization initiatives.
You translate legal and regulatory requirements into internal policies, procedures, and work instructions.
You collaborate with regional and local ECC professionals to support the consistent implementation of Origin & FTA processes across regions and contribute to knowledge sharing, training, capability development, and change initiatives within the global Origin & Preferences network.
You manage relationships with external stakeholders, including customs authorities, support audits, and ensure compliant and audit-ready documentation.
You collaborate closely with Purchasing, Supply Chain, PLM, Sales, and Logistics and advise stakeholders on business process improvements to maximize Origin and FTA capabilities.
You are responsible to manage the design, specification, implementation and enhancement of digital solutions for Origin and Preferences (e.g., SAP, SAP GTS, AEB, MIC).
You design and leverage data insights to improve transparency, compliance, and performance.
You hold a degree in Business Administration, Business Law, Law, Customs, International Trade, or a related field.
You have many years of experience in customs and trade compliance with a focus on origin and preferences.
You possess profound expertise in preferential and non-preferential rules of origin, as well as comprehensive knowledge of EU FTAs and ideally global agreements (USMCA, ASEAN, etc.).
You have experience translating regulations into policies, processes, and operational requirements.
You demonstrate a very good understanding of supply chain-related processes (Purchasing, SCM, PLM) and have experience with foreign trade systems (SAP, SAP GTS, AEB, MIC, etc.).
You bring experience in change management activities, system implementations, or process improvements within an international environment.
You are fluent in English and German and can translate complex customs, origin, and trade compliance requirements into clear and actionable guidance for an international audience.
You demonstrate an analytical, structured, and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to simplify complex regulatory topics into practical recommendations.
You possess strong communication skills in a global environment and bring intercultural competence.
You take a proactive approach, demonstrate a high level of ownership, and build effective relationships with stakeholders across functions and regions.
You enjoy working in international and cross-functional teams and contributing to collaborative solutions.
