Zusammenfassung

RobCo is building Autonomous Industrial Robotics in Munich, delivering a hardware-software-AI stack that just works. As Senior Electrical Engineer - Robotics, you own the hardware platforms from prototyping to series production and collaborate with firmware and software on board bring-up and debugging.

You will design schematics, multi-layer PCBs, cable harnesses, power distribution (24V/48V), and motor interfaces, while establishing QA gates and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifikationen

• Completed vocational training or a degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a comparable field.
• Several years of experience in full-cycle electrical design (analog, digital, and power circuits).
• Solid background in Altium, multi-layer PCB layout, motor drives, encoders, and EMC/thermal layout strategies.

• Own the full electrical picture: schematic capture, PCB layout, cable harness design, connectors, and parts.
• Drive prototyping and series production: build PCBs, circuits, and wiring systems toward scalable manufacturing.

As our Senior Electrical Engineer - Robotics (m/f/d), you act as the electrical core of our robotics engineering team, taking complete ownership of our hardware platforms from early prototyping through to series production. You bridge high-speed autonomous robotic development with robust engineering processes, ensuring our hardware meets the highest quality and safety standards, and set up efficient systems and engineering gates that empower the broader team to work with clarity, focus, and speed.

Your Responsibilities

• Own the full electrical picture: Design and execute schematic capture, multi-layer PCB layout, cable harness design, connector selection, and part specification.
• Drive end-to-end prototyping and series production: Build PCBs, circuits, and wiring systems, taking dynamic initial concepts all the way through to scalable manufacturing.
• Establish engineering processes: Build standard QA frameworks, engineering gates, and operational systems that allow the team to stay focused, execute rapidly, and succeed.
• Ensure quality, compliance, and safety: Act as the primary gatekeeper for electrical quality while navigating applicable industry safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Engine for high-speed execution: Balance fast-paced autonomous robotic iteration with pragmatic, right-sized QA processes tailored to current development stages.
• Design motion system architectures: Develop and optimize 24V/48V power distribution, motor/servo drive integration, and sensor interfaces to ensure high signal integrity and thermal efficiency.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with firmware and software teams on board bring-up, microcontroller integration, and system-level debugging.
• Manage DFM/DFT and supplier relationships: Work directly with contract manufacturers and in-house assembly teams to oversee BOM costs, component sourcing, and engineering change control.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Completed vocational training or a degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a comparable field.
• Several years of experience in full-cycle electrical design (analog, digital, and power circuits) across multiple companies, taking products from concept to market.
• Deep technical background in Altium, multi-layer PCB layout, microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, STM32), motion systems (24/48V power, motor drives, encoders, sensor interfaces), and EMC/thermal layout strategies.
• Solid grasp of DFM/DFT principles, cable harness design, signal integrity, and direct collaboration with contract manufacturers.
• Proactive, end-to-end ownership mindset with a pragmatic working style and a drive to establish scalable processes in a high-growth environment.
• Very good English skills (German is a plus).
• Nice to have: Familiarity with industrial protocols (EtherCAT, Profinet, Modbus, CAN, Ethernet) and exposure to relevant standards/safety concepts (CE/Machinery Directive, ISO 10218, EMC standards, STO, PL/SIL).
