KONUX is seeking a Senior Data Scientist (f/m/x) to join our team in Munich. You will develop data-driven solutions using IIoT sensor data, design end-to-end models, and deploy production-grade solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

You will work with a team of engineers and domain experts to translate business needs into technical impact, contribute to a culture of innovation, and help scale our AI capabilities within the railway domain.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years hands-on experience in data science, building and testing models.
• Fluency in Python; additional language is a plus.
• Experience with dataframe-centric tools like Pandas, PySpark, Polars, SQL.
• Experience owning data science problems and production models.
• Familiarity with Git and software engineering practices.
• Proactive, impact-driven attitude in a fast-paced team.

Your Impact

• Develop insights using a wide range of data sources, including IIoT sensor data and other railway domain datasets
• Design and implement solutions – from understanding customer challenges to releasing models to production
• Deploy well‑tested, maintainable solutions into live systems
• Develop tools and infrastructure for sensor data analysis that integrate smoothly into our end‑to‑end software engineering lifecycle
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and domain experts to translate business needs into technical impact
• Drive innovation and help you and your colleagues improve and grow

To be Successful in This Role, You’ll Need to Have:

• A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of hands‑on experience in data science, having built and tested statistical or ML models
• Fluency in Python and ideally experience with an additional programming language
• Past experience working with dataframe‑centric data manipulation tools such as pandas, PySpark, Polars and SQL
• Past experience owning complex data science problems independently, having developed models for production systems, beyond pure academic or research settings
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and common software engineering best‑practices
• A proactive, impact‑driven attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment

It’s a Plus (but not a Requirement) If You Have:

Experience applying digital signal processing (DSP) techniques to extract features and insights, for example from sensor or time‑series data

• Understanding of model monitoring techniques, software testing, and CI/CD workflows
• Worked with and trained models using diverse types of data (e.g., time‑series, tabular, event logs, images, sensor data, etc.)
• Experience with state‑space and survival modeling, and familiarity with statistical packages such as statsmodels, PyMC, or Stan
• Experience with AWS and Databricks
