AI Futures in Germany is seeking a Senior Data Platform Architect to design end-to-end data flow from devices to cloud, treating data as a product and enabling analytics and ML/AI at scale.

You will own the data architecture from device to cloud, ensure data availability for analytics and AI use cases, and shape a data‑mesh‑aligned platform with well‑defined data products and strong governance. This role requires hands-on implementation and ADR-driven decisions.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to create a new industry by building the operating system for physical-world intelligence. Funded by Tier 1 VCs the company are developing a new category of autonomous systems capable of delivering low-signature, persistent intelligence at scale, creating a programmable layer that connects the physical world to organisations and turns deployments into real insight. The Role:

• Hands‑on architect responsible for the end‑to‑end data flow from devices to cloud, treating data as a product and enabling analytics and ML/AI at scale.
• Own the data architecture from device → field hub → cloud, ensuring data is available for analytics, training and AI use cases
• Design and evolve a data‑mesh‑aligned platform, where data products are well‑defined, governed, and consumable by teams
• Enable ML/AI workflows by ensuring high‑quality, well‑modeled, and accessible datasets
• Work with heterogeneous data types, including sensor data, motion data, audio, images, and video
• Define and enforce data governance, including multi‑tenant customer isolation and controlled data sharing
• Acts as a hands‑on architect, building and improving pipelines, schemas, and platform tooling while guiding decisions via ADRs

The Candidate:

• 50–70% hands‑on contribution to platform and pipeline implementation
• Strong experience designing scalable telemetry and data platforms
• Practical application of data mesh principles and data products
• Experience working with heterogeneous data (sensor, audio, image, video)
• Strong focus on ML/AI enablement and analytics workloads
• Expertise in data modeling, data quality, schema evolution, and metadata management
• Strong understanding of data governance, including multi‑tenant and customer data isolation
• Hands‑on experience with AWS‑based data platforms e.g. S3, Glue, Spark, Iceberg
