What you’ll do as part of our cloud‑and data engineering team

• Take ownership for projects end to end: from scoping to stakeholder alignment and the delivery of measurable outcomes.
• Design data architectures for batch and streaming workloads, both at small and big data scales.
• Provision and manage the underlying cloud infrastructure to support those architectures on providers such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Build Python ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestrated with Airflow, Dagster or Prefect.
• Work with data lake technologies and optimize OLAP data warehouses and lakehouses.
• Model and store data across SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as optimizing performance and costs.
• Create web APIs with popular Python frameworks (FastAPI and Flask) and describe them using standards like OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Automate deployments using Infrastructure‑as‑Code and container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift.

Who you are

• A passionate data engineer who loves being at the forefront of modern, AI‑driven technology, but also cares about the engineering craftmanship.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience with a cloud hyperscaler (preferably AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Preferably 3+ years of experience building production‑grade software.
• A senior‑level Python developer, who writes idiomatic and well‑tested code.
• Skilled in performance tuning and optimization of relational databases (through indexing, sharding or partitioning).
• Experienced with data workflow orchestration tools (Apache Airflow, Dagster or Prefect).
• Competent with large‑scale data processing and modern analytics stacks (Apache Spark, Snowflake, dbt or similar technologies).
• Proficient with containerization and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes or similar technologies).
• A clear, confident communicator in German and English who can translate between business and engineering.
• Customer‑centric, results‑driven, and willing to occasionally travel to clients.
