Metro Bank in London is seeking a Senior Core Banking Engineer to lead the design, development and deployment of the Core Banking System and Document Management Software, ensuring quality and alignment with project objectives.

You will mentor engineers, drive process improvements, manage technical debt, and present complex concepts to stakeholders while collaborating with onshore and offshore teams.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 8 years of experience in a core banking product or similar
• Experience in software development and solution design at a senior level
• Understanding system design across Cloud, Linux, JBoss, containers and databases
• Experience with test automation and DevOps CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working with onshore and offshore teams and vendors
• Strong communication and presentation skills with stakeholders at all levels

What you will do:

• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of Core Banking System as well as Document Management Software, ensuring they meet quality standards and project objectives
• Review and approve changes, ensuring adherence to architectural principles, design and coding standards. You will rationalise and simplify solutions before and during their build
• Mentor and guide analysts and engineers as required, working with the Chapter Lead to ensure appropriate guidelines, standards and processes are in place and applied consistently
• Drive continuous improvement in software development processes, tools, and methodologies
• Minimise the creation of any new technical debt by managing delivery priorities with long term stability
• Present technical concepts to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
• Encourage and participate in experimentation & innovation within the chapter and across teams to solve complex technical challenges

What you will need:

• Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a core banking product; Finacle is desirable but other well known products could be considered. Broad banking knowledge is required.
• Experience in software development/engineering and solution design at a senior level, working with Architecture and alongside multiple technology disciplines, including creation and maintenance of technical documentation and knowledge repositories.
• Understanding System Design and various platforms like Cloud, Linux, Jboss, Containers, Databases. Excellent level of programming skills, ideally multiple languages.
• Experience with Application Ownership, driving continuous improvement and technical roadmaps, including test automation and DevOps CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working with onshore and offshore teams and working in an environment that includes 3rd party vendors and suppliers
• Ability to troubleshoot and work with multiple teams to determine root cause of issues by supporting the investigation of code and data
• Evidence of taking a personal level of ownership that has seen you going over and above to meet deadlines and deliver the best outcomes
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience communicating with stakeholders at all levels
