Zusammenfassung

Retarus GmbH invites a seasoned (Senior) Controller to join our Munich team. You will lead the Controlling function, optimize the reporting lifecycle, and develop key SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, and churn.

You will produce analyses, forecasts and ad hoc reports to enable executive decision making and strategic planning. You will partner with managers across the organization, own budgeting and profitability analyses, and help shape cross-functional digitalization projects.

Qualifikationen

• Completed degree in Business Administration with a focus on Controlling, Accounting, Finance, or comparable qualification with relevant experience.
• Several years of experience in Controlling, ideally in SaaS, tech, or international company.
• Proficiency in Excel and BI/FP tools (Power BI, LucaNet or similar).
• Experience with CRM/ERP systems (Salesforce, MS Dynamics, ABAS).
• Fluent German and English for international collaboration.

What you'll do

• Drive the further development of our Controlling function by optimizing processes across the entire reporting lifecycle – from data collection to automated reporting
• Develop and maintain meaningful SaaS KPIs (e.g., ARR, MRR, Churn Rate, CAC, LTV, Net Revenue Retention) and derive actionable recommendations to support business growth
• Independently prepare analyses, forecasts, and ad hoc reports, translating complex data into clear, management-ready insights for executive decision-making
• Act as a trusted business partner for managers across the organization, providing sound financial guidance and supporting strategic and operational decision-making
• Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and profitability calculations to ensure effective financial planning and performance management
• Analyze data from our CRM system and prepare meaningful reports for various stakeholders, ranging from Sales to Executive Management
• Actively contribute to cross-functional efficiency and digitalization projects, helping shape the continuous development of our Controlling processes and system landscape

What you'll need

• A completed degree in Business Administration with a focus on Controlling, Accounting, Finance, or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
• Several years of experience in Controlling, ideally within a SaaS, technology, or internationally operating company
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel as well as experience with Business Intelligence and financial planning tools (e.g., Power BI, LucaNet, or comparable solutions)
• Experience working with CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, ABAS ERP)
• Fluent German and English language skills to collaborate effectively with our international teams
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, combined with a structured and solution-oriented approach
• A self-driven, hands‑on mindset with the ability to take ownership and turn insights into action
• Strong numerical aptitude, business acumen, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders across different functions
