Understanding Recruitment seeks a Senior Computer Vision Engineer to build perception systems for autonomous platforms, with models running on UAVs, UGVs and USVs.

You will tackle challenges across computer vision, perception, multimodal learning and autonomy, moving ideas from research through to hardware deployment.

The role requires hands-on experience deploying production-grade CV models, strong Python and C++/Rust skills, and a focus on real-world performance and robustness.

Qualifikationen

• Deep expertise in computer vision, machine learning and deep learning.
• Strong experience developing modern vision systems using PyTorch or similar frameworks.
• Excellent Python skills and strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with C++ or Rust for performance-critical or production systems.
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying production-grade computer vision models.
• Strong knowledge of object detection, tracking, segmentation, representation learning or multimodal perception.
• Experience optimising models for latency, throughput and constrained compute environments.
• Understanding of model evaluation, robustness and real-world failure modes.
• Ability to take ownership of complex technical problems from research to deployment.

Want to build computer vision systems that don’t just perform well in benchmarks, but fly, drive and operate in the real world?

We’re hiring a Senior Computer Vision Engineer to develop and deploy advanced perception systems for real-world autonomous platforms, with models running directly on UAVs, UGVs and USVs.

You’ll work on challenging problems across computer vision, perception, multimodal learning and autonomy, taking ideas from research and experimentation through to deployment on physical hardware.

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally bring:

• Deep expertise in computer vision, machine learning and deep learning
• Strong experience developing modern vision systems using PyTorch or similar frameworks
• Excellent Python skills and strong software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with C++ or Rust for performance-critical or production systems
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying production-grade computer vision models
• Strong knowledge of areas such as object detection, tracking, segmentation, representation learning or multimodal perception
• Experience optimising models for latency, throughput and constrained compute environments
• A strong understanding of model evaluation, robustness and real-world failure modes
• The ability to take ownership of complex technical problems and drive them from initial research through to deployment

Experience in robotics, autonomous systems, edge AI or sensor fusion would be particularly valuable, although you don’t need to come directly from an autonomy background.

We’re looking for an engineer who can go beyond building models that work in controlled environments and tackle the harder challenge of making computer vision perform reliably in the real world.
