Overview: The Communications & Marketing Manager will play a central role in shaping and executing Hypersonica’s communications and marketing activities from our headquarters in Germany. This is a hands-on role for an experienced communications professional who is equally comfortable developing strategic narratives, creating compelling content, supporting media engagement, and driving marketing initiatives that strengthen Hypersonica's profile among customers, partners, investors, policymakers and future employees. Operating at the intersection of advanced technology, defence innovation, engineering and public policy, you will help translate highly complex technical programmes into clear, credible and engaging communications for a broad range of audiences. You will work closely with leadership, business development, government affairs, engineering teams and external partners to enhance awareness of Hypersonica's mission, capabilities and impact.

What you’ll do

Corporate Communications & Media Relations

• Develop and deliver communications strategies that support Hypersonica's business objectives, brand/reputation and growth ambitions, alongside the Director of Communications.
• Draft and coordinate press releases, media statements, executive briefing materials, Q&A documents and key messages.
• Build relationships with German and European media across technology, aerospace, defence, business and policy sectors.
• Support proactive and reactive media engagement, ensuring accurate, consistent and compelling representation of the company.
• Monitor media, industry developments and stakeholder sentiment relating to defence innovation, aerospace, deep tech and European security.

Marketing & Brand Development

• Support the development and implementation of integrated marketing campaigns that increase awareness of Hypersonica among key target audiences.
• Strengthen and maintain brand positioning across all external communications and marketing channels.
• Develop content that showcases company milestones, technological achievements, partnerships, programme successes and company growth.
• Coordinate marketing materials including presentations, brochures, fact sheets, videos and digital assets.
• Support employer branding initiatives to attract high-calibre engineering, technical and commercial talent.

Digital Communications & Content

• Manage and develop content for the company website, LinkedIn and eventually other owned channels.
• Create engaging written, visual and multimedia content tailored to different stakeholder audiences.
• Maintain editorial calendars and coordinate campaign delivery across multiple channels.
• Track and analyse engagement, reach and audience sentiment to inform future communications and marketing activities.

Government, Industry & Stakeholder Communications

• Support communications related to government engagement, customer relationships, strategic partnerships and industry events as needed.
