Zusammenfassung

Rivada Space Networks GmbH in Munich and Berlin is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design and engineering of our RSN Cloud Infrastructure, ensuring it meets business needs.

You will drive CI/CD, DevSecOps, multi‑cloud strategy (public/private/hybrid), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), AI tooling governance, and scalable data pipelines, coordinating with global teams to deliver secure, resilient cloud solutions.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in CI with 5+ years as a cloud architect defining and specifying technical architecture and deployment solutions.
• Experience building an enterprise CI from scratch.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure blocks: compute, storage, networking, monitoring, security, automation.

Aufgaben

• Define the cloud strategy and ensure alignment with business goals across multi‑cloud options.
• Design and specify technical architecture including high availability, disaster recovery, and multi‑region replication.
• Champion modern paradigms: microservices, containerization, serverless, and AI tooling governance.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and robust security monitoring and encryption.
• Drive CI/CD integration with DevOps teams and optimise cost and performance.
• Lead PoCs for new solutions and support budgeting and financial engineering.

• DefiningtheCIstrategicvisionandensuringenterprisealignmentincludinge.g.:
  • Cloudroad map: Defines the multi-year cloud strategy, choosing between public, private, hybrid, or multi-cloud approaches based on company goals.
  • Vendormanagement: Evaluates cloud providers, third-party software, and integration tools to get the best value and avoid vendor lock-in.
• DesigningandspecifyingtheCItechnicalarchitectureincludinge.g.:
  • Highavailability &disasterrecovery: Designs systems with automated failovers and multi-region replication so business services never go down.
  • Modernparadigms: Champions microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless architectures to maximize application agility.
  • AI tooling & tech stack:Evaluateand govern modern AI tools and frameworks (e.g., LLMs, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and orchestration tools) foroptimalperformance and cost.
  • Data &analyticsinfra: Architectures scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes capable of handling massive telemetry or business data.
• PromotingDevSecOpsandautomationincluding e.g.:
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Ensures that entire environments can be spun up or torn down automatically via code,eliminatingmanual configuration errors.
• Security-firstmindset: Integrates continuous security monitoring, automated vulnerability scanning, and strict encryption into the core design.
• CI/CDintegration: Collaborates with DevOps teams to build smooth software deployment pipelines, accelerating how fast new features hit production.
• Executingproof ofconceptsto designand prototype solutions(including AI)tovalidatetechnical feasibility and demonstrate value before full-scale production.
• Preparingfinancialengineeringforcostoptimisationandbudgetforecasting.

What you bring on the table

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years ofprofessionalexperience inCIwith5+ yearsspecificallyas a cloud architectdefiningand specifying technicalarchitecture anddeploymentsolutions.
• Valuableexperiencein setting upaCIfrom scratch.
• Holistic understanding of cloud infrastructure building blocks:compute, storage, networking, monitoring, security ,automationand inventory.
• Very strongwith CICD, pipeline automation and DevOps, particularly with Terraform, GitLab and operational use case designs (like backup, application upgrade).
• Experience in the following technologies and domainswould bedesired:
  • Expert knowledge of major cloud providers (AWSandGCP)and desirable experience in OpenStack ,hybridand/or multi-cloud environments.
  • Expert knowledge inautomation tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Expert knowledge inOS software such as Kubernetes, Kafka,ElasticSearch, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana.
  • Knowledge in security managementandIT Service Management processes.
  • Very goodcommunicationand softskillsto coordinate and interact with other internal teams.
• Able to travel and work in a very dynamic environment.
• Fluency in English.
