ABOUT DAINA

DAiNA is a precision-oncology company focused on enabling personalized cancer treatment for individual patients. We combine comprehensive molecular tumor data including genomics, transcriptomics (bulk, single cell and spatial), proteomics and epigenetics, with AI-driven analysis. Our platform connects multi-omic profiling with functional ex-vivo tumor models and personalized liquid-biopsy monitoring, creating a continuous workflow from biopsy and treatment selection through to therapy monitoring and adaptation. We also operate GMP manufacturing to produce individualized N=1 therapeutics. In short, we help physicians make more informed, personalized treatment decisions based on high-dimensional molecular tumor data. For more information, visit: www.daina.com

THE ROLE

We are building DAiNA’s in-house computational oncology capability at the core of our precision-oncology platform. As Senior Bioinformatician, you will own the analytical backbone that transforms high-dimensional patient data into clinically meaningful biological insight. Beyond pipeline execution, you will lead the development of robust multi-omics analysis workflows and help shape DAiNA’s next-generation modelling capabilities across digital twin approaches, cancer evolution, treatment resistance and personalized therapy adaptation. You will work closely with the wet lab, clinical, AI and external partners to ensure all data comes together into a coherent, auditable and clinically relevant framework.

WHAT YOU’LL DO?
  • Lead DAiNA’s bioinformatics and computational oncology workstream across genomics, transcriptomics, single-cell/spatial data, epigenetics, proteomics and liquid-biopsy data.
  • Own and scale reproducible multi-omics pipelines from raw data ingestion through QC, variant calling, fusion detection, expression analysis, pathway analysis and biological interpretation.
  • Translate complex data into clinically meaningful insights for tumor-board discussions and personalized therapy strategies.
  • Set technical and scientific standards for internal analyses and external providers (QC, documentation, versioning, reproducibility, auditability).
  • Help drive our digital twin and cancer-modelling initiatives, including tumor evolution and treatment-resistance approaches.
  • Collaborate across wet lab, clinical, AI/ML and external academic or diagnostic partners.
WHAT YOU BRING?
  • PhD, or MSc with a strong track record, in bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology, cancer genomics or a related quantitative field.
  • Senior, hands-on experience with human NGS data (WGS/WES and RNA-seq), ideally in oncology.
  • Strong understanding of multi-omics data integration, including genomics, transcriptomics (bulk, single-cell, spatial), proteomics and epigenetics.
  • Experience with cancer-relevant analyses such as variant calling, structural variants, fusion detection, pathway analysis, tumor evolution or resistance mechanisms.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or R, with confidence working on Linux and using Git, testing and documentation practices.
  • Experience with HPC and/or cloud environments, biological and clinical databases, and advanced clinical applications of omics/bioinformatics methods in oncology.
  • Proven ability to create highly structured, focused and audit-ready documentation of analytical workflows, assumptions and results.
NICE TO HAVE:
  • Experience with digital twin, mechanistic modelling, dynamical systems, clonal evolution or tumor-response modelling.
  • Experience integrating ex-vivo functional testing data with molecular and longitudinal clinical data.
  • Familiarity with liquid biopsy/ctDNA monitoring, neoantigen prediction, immuno-oncology or personalized therapeutics.
  • Experience working in regulated, clinical or translational environments.
WHY DAINA?
  • Employer contributions toward private health insurance or supplementary health coverage, as well as pension or retirement savings.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity, depending on company and individual performance.
  • Hybrid model with ~60% of working time expected on-site and the rest remotely, depending on team and business needs.
  • A personal development budget for conferences, courses, certifications, and training.
  • The opportunity to work directly on real patient cases and help shape a first-in-class precision-oncology platform.
  • A proactive, collaborative team with fast decision-making and strong ownership of your domain.
