Zusammenfassung

Axel Springer SE in Berlin is seeking an experienced backend engineer to take end-to-end ownership of our backend services powering our mobile experiences. You will design and implement robust solutions using Kotlin, Spring Boot, AWS, and Lambdas, ensuring reliability with monitoring and observability, and collaborating with the MaPS platform team on Kubernetes deployments.

You’ll mentor teammates, contribute to the technical vision, and have opportunities to broaden into Android or iOS

Qualifikationen

• At least five years of hands-on experience as a backend or software engineer, ideally in JVM-based backend systems.
• Fluent in Kotlin and experienced with Spring Boot, having built and operated production-grade backend services.
• Solid track record with AWS cloud technologies (including Lambda and container-based workloads), plus familiarity with IAM, S3, and messaging services.
• Interested in Kubernetes, understanding deployments, observability, and containerized workloads.
• Strong commitment to code quality, maintainable architectures, testing and long-term system ownership.
• Enthusiasm for monitoring, transparency, and building systems that are easy to operate.
• Proven strength in mentoring colleagues, building cross-team relationships, and actively promoting knowledge sharing in diverse environments.
• Strong communicator who translates complex technical topics for product managers, designers, and fellow engineers
