About the role

This is a full-time remote opportunity for candidates based in Germany.

As part of the investment team, you will manage multiple microservices and supporting library projects in our event-driven microservices architecture powered by Kafka. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of savings accounts, campaigns (rewards), and the entire investment platform, taxation, etc.

You will work on financial-grade, high-throughput systems that must be correct and auditable, while integrating with a broader ecosystem of microservices managed by other teams.

• Java (21+)/Kotlin, SpringBoot 4, Hibernate, Flyway, Protobuf
• Postgres, Kafka, AWS S3, Github Actions, Prometheus, Grafana
• JUnit 5, AssertJ, Mockito/MockK, Testcontainers, Karate
• Checkstyle/ktlint

What we are looking for:

Must-have:

• Solid backend software development experience.

Strong proficiency in:

• Microservices, event-driven architectures, REST APIs
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), transactions and concurrency, maintaining large, high-traffic tables.
• Continuous delivery with test-driven development (ATDD), or willingness to learn and adapt.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience in financial systems
• Experience with observability stacks
