Staffbase is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help build an AI-native employee experience platform. You’ll join a cross-functional team, write high-quality code, and contribute to a fast-paced development process with strong CI/CD practices.

The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and a focus on delivering scalable backend services using Go, Kotlin/Java, and modern tooling. Hybrid work flexibility and a competitive package are offered.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years experience as a Backend Engineer using Go and preferably Java/Kotlin.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for building meaningful software and ownership of quality.

We\'re on the lookout for Senior Backend Engineers to join our Staffbase team and help us build an awesome internal communications platform. We are looking for empathetic and motivated team players who are motivated by growth and ownership.

As part of our tech stack, we are using: React.js, Javascript, Typescript, Tailwind CSS, Kotlin, Go, Java, MongoDB, Terraform, Docker and Playwright, to name a few.

What you’ll be doing

• Responsible for improving and developing both our web-based clients, native apps, and our RESTful web services
• Work in a cross-functional scrum team and produce high-quality and tested code
• Give and receive valuable feedback in our code review process and continuously learn and share knowledge with your peers
• Being open to feedback and taking ownership of your work are essential
• Take ownership for topics ranging from the features you produce to the quality of our work to the environment we work in
• You work iteratively, frequently pushing code, ensuring a good CI/CD pipeline, and automating where possi ble

What you need to be successful

• 5+ years experience as a Backend Engineer working with Go and preferably Java/Kotlin
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Passion for the things you build and want to make a difference
• Preferably, you have worked in an agile environment before
• You value quality as well as clean code and learning new things
• Good English communication skills
• You are a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team
• Understanding and appreciative diversity and inclusivity in the workplace
