Jobbeschreibung

We are searching for a Senior Backend Developer being part of a smart, motivated and open-minded engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Applying best practices of modern software design to extend our SaaS platform with new features and refactoring existing services
• Developing and maintaining globally distributed web applications which are used by millions of users every day worldwide
• Monitoring, benchmarking and improving (micro)service performance
• Driving the development by working closely together with other back- and front-end developers, UX/UI experts, and product designers
• Taking ownership of projects
• Becoming a mentor for other team members

Requirements:

• 5+ years backend engineering experience
• 3+ experience with cloud solutions (preferably on AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform)
• Good experience in NodeJS or comparable languages.
• Deep understanding of Python and its ecosystem
• Practical experience in database design and handling (e.g. MySQL, Postgres or NoSQL)
• Experience in test automation, unit testing and documentation
• To know how to write good tests or even practice TDD and know how to set up automated testing environments
• Experience in building well designed and tested applications with a clean code
• Very good skills in analyzing and visualizing complex technical scenarios
• Prefer working in teams, like to share your knowledge and being eager to learn
• Being passionate about code quality and being pragmatic in getting things done
• To have a drive for improving processes and thinking in long-term wins
• Fluency in English (in both written and verbal communication)

Nice to have:

• Fluency in JavaScript or other programming languages
• Experience with Django/DRF
• Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery
• Knowledge in PHP and practical experience with Kubernetes are a big plus
• German is a big advantage, but not required
