Zusammenfassung

Serco Limited is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer with hybrid work options attached to our Solihull, Hook or London offices. The role focuses on designing high-quality data products, enterprise dashboards, and semantic models to enable trusted decision-making across UK&E.

You will lead analytics engineering, publish governed datasets, and collaborate with data engineering to ensure data quality, security, lineage, and documentation.

Qualifikationen

  • 5+ years’ experience in enterprise-scale analytics, BI, or analytics engineering environments.
  • Strong BI experience across Microsoft stack (Power BI, SQL Server/SSRS, Excel).
  • Expert in data modelling (dimensional and lakehouse architectures) and enterprise dataset design.
  • Advanced Databricks and Spark engineering (Delta Lake, performance tuning, orchestration).
  • Strong understanding of cloud data platforms (Azure or AWS) and secure data architectures.
  • Experience implementing data quality frameworks, validation, profiling, and documentation standards.
  • DBT skills and SC clearance desirable.

Aufgaben

  • Build advanced dashboards and reporting solutions (Power BI, Databricks or similar) to support KPI, operational, strategic, and ad-hoc insight needs.
  • Design and maintain enterprise semantic models (dimensional, canonical, and lakehouse gold layers) ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Publish certified, governed datasets and define standards for BI consumption, enabling reliable self-service analytics.
  • Partner with data engineering to improve data quality, enforce security standards, and maintain lineage, metadata, and documentation.
  • Implement and optimise data pipelines and analytics models using Spark, Delta Lake, and cloud-native tooling.
  • Coach and support analytics engineers and analysts through code reviews, mentoring, and best practice adoption.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into clear, prioritised, high-value data products while challenging ambiguity and assumptions.
  • Act as an SME for analytics solutions across Azure/AWS and Databricks-based environments.
  • Drive performance, cost efficiency, and scalability of analytics solutions through continuous optimisation.
  • Promote modern analytics engineering standards including CI/CD, testing frameworks, and reusable patterns.
