Merz Therapeutics GmbH in Frankfurt is seeking a Scientific Expert, Nonclinical Science (m/f/d) on a fixed-term contract for 12 months to strengthen our specialty neurology science. You will support pharmacological evaluation of internal and external projects.

You will conduct nonclinical studies, assess mechanisms of action, collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners, and contribute to regulatory documents and post-launch activities. Fluent English is required.

Qualifikationen

• Doctoral degree in natural sciences, medicine, veterinary medicine, or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience in preclinical drug development and the conduct of nonclinical studies.
• Hands-on expertise in preclinical pharmacology, ideally combined with neuroscience/neurology experience.
• Experience working with CROs and evaluating external scientific studies or research projects.
• Strong analytical and scientific skills; ability to interpret data and translate findings into recommendations.
• Excellent presentation, communication and networking skills; innovative and collaborative mindset.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills.

• Conduct literature, database and competitive landscape research in specialty neurology.
• Evaluate external innovation and potential acquisition opportunities from a scientific perspective.

• Collaborate with pharma/biotech, CROs and academic institutions.
• Support post-launch scientific activities and contribute to regulatory documents.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

As a Scientific Expert, Nonclinical Science (m/f/d), you will strengthen our scientific expertise in specialty neurology and support the pharmacological evaluation of internal and external projects. You will contribute to nonclinical studies, assess scientific data and mechanisms of action, and collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as external research partners. This role is a fixed-term contract for 12 months and your responsibilities will include the following tasks:

• Support the coordination, evaluation and scientific assessment of external in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro pharmacodynamic studies
• Conduct literature, database and competitive landscape research in the field of specialty neurology
• Evaluate external innovation and potential acquisition opportunities from a scientific and pharmacological perspective
• Assess mechanisms of action and provide pharmacological expertise for internal and external projects
• Collaborate with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, contract research organizations and academic research institutions
• Support post-launch scientific activities and contribute to nonclinical pharmacology sections of regulatory documents
• Promote scientific exchange through publications, scientific meetings and conference participation

YOUR PROFILE

• Doctoral degree in natural sciences, medicine, veterinary medicine or a related scientific discipline
• Professional experience in preclinical drug development and the conduct of nonclinical studies
• Hands-on expertise in preclinical pharmacology, ideally combined with experience in neuroscience or neurology
• Experience working with CROs and evaluating external scientific studies or research projects
• Strong analytical and scientific skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into clear recommendations
• Excellent presentation, communication and networking skills, combined with an innovative and collaborative mindset
• Excellent written and spoken English skills
