Spire Global in Munich is hiring MAIT Technicians to build, test and prepare nano-satellites for launch. You will join the satellite manufacturing team to define and execute processes for assembling and testing spacecraft in the Munich facility.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, a proactive attitude and a willingness to challenge the status quo. German is preferred, and the position is fully on-site five days a week at the Munich site.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing or cleanroom environment.
• Relevant technical education or training in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• SVQ Level 3 in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• English: Fluent/business-level English required as main working language.

• Soldering tasks on surface mount components and PCBAs.
• Sub-assembly electro-mechanical assembly and test.

• Perform failure analysis to component level.
• Lab and cleanroom housekeeping.
• Travel to customer facilities for operations.

Spire Global in Munich is looking to hire MAIT (Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration & Test) Technicians. The position is suited to experienced techs or anyone with a passion for learning that is looking for a start in the space industry. As part of the satellite manufacturing team you will help us define and execute the processes required to assemble and test our spacecraft within the purpose built facility in Munich.

The successful candidate will be able to follow detailed instructions and have an unwavering attention to detail. An unbending focus on quality is critical. We need enthusiastic team players with a passion for the industry as well as an open attitude towards challenging the status quo.

Key Responsibilities

• PCBA & Mechanical part inspection
• Perform soldering tasks on surface mount components and PCBAs
• Sub-assembly electro-mechanical assembly and test
• Satellite assembly and integrated test
• Setup and execute environmental testing
• Accurate completion of all quality documentations
• Provide production improvements based on bottleneck analysis
• Failure analysis to component level
• Lab and Cleanroom Housekeeping
• Travel to customer facilities for operations

Key Performance Indicator

• Primary:
  • Complete 100% of assigned work packages in accordance with quality procedures
• Additional KPIs
  • 95% Schedule adherence. Completes assigned tasks within planned timelines
  • 100% Procedure Compliance. Follows work instructions, test procedures, and quality processes

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years’ experience in a similar role withinamanufacturing or cleanroom environment
• Relevant Technical Education / Training in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• SVQ Level 3 in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• English: Fluent/business-level English is required, as English is the main working language across the company

Preferred Skills/Attributes:

• IPC or J-standard qualified for surface mount component placement and rework skills
• Experience working in a fast paced high tech environment
• Ability to work independently, yet in a collaborative environment
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions
• PCBA & Mechanical Assembly work
• Understanding of technical drawings; PCB layout, PCB Schematics, mechanical drawings
• Understanding of basic electronics
• Software programming experience
• Quick learning with the ability to develop others
• Attention to detail & organisational skills
• Honesty, openness and self awareness
• German: Intermediate German is preferred due to the location and local culture

This position will require you to work five days per week in the office.
