Die Stiftung Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover sucht eine Forschungsassistentin bzw. einen Forschungsassistenten (m/w/d) am Institut für Virologie.

Die Position umfasst die Planung und Durchführung molekularbiologischer und virologischer Experimente zur Charakterisierung von Rekombinantviren, Influenzaviren, Coronaviren und Flaviviren sowie die Produktion von Impfstoffen für Immunisierungsstudien. Vorzugsweise verfügen Sie über mehrjährige Erfahrungen in der Infektionsforschung oder Immunologie,

Qualifikationen

• Abgeschlossenes Tiermedizin-Studium mit Approbation oder vergleichbarer naturwissenschaftlicher Master.
• Mehrjährige Forschungserfahrung in Infektionskrankheiten oder Immunologie vorteilhaft.

Aufgaben

• Planung und Durchführung molekularbiologischer und virologischer Experimente zur Charakterisierung von Rekombinantviren, Influenzaviren, Coronaviren und Flaviviren
• Herstellung von Experimentimpfstoffen für Immunisierungsstudien in LaborTieren
• Planung und Durchführung von Impfstudien und Challenge-Infections in Versuchstieren
• Durchführung virologischer und immunologischer Experimente zur Auswertung von Tierstudien
• Veterinärmedizinische Betreuung und medizinische Überwachung der Versuchstiere

EG 13/14 TV-L; Full-time employment (100%) | fixed term contract

in the Institute of Virology; Starting date: as soon as possible

Area of responsibility

• Planning and conducting molecular biological and virological experiments to characterize recombinant Vacciniaviruses, Influenzaviruses, Coronaviruses und Flaviviruses


• Production of experimental vaccines for immunization studies in laboratory animals


• Planning and conducting vaccination studies and challenge infections in laboratory animals


• Conducting virological and immunological experiments to characterize and evaluate the results of animal studies


• For veterinarians: Veterinary care and medical supervision of the laboratory animals

Recruitment requirements

• Completed degree in Veterinary Medicine and a veterinary license to practice, or a Master's degree in a comparable natural science discipline, preferably with experience in infectious disease research or immunological work

Required professional knowledge and personal skills

• Several years of experience in the areas mentioned above


• Willingness to conduct animal research


• Sound knowledge of the animal welfare regulations and legal framework applicable to animal experimentation, in particular according to FELASA categories B/C, is desirable


• Very good command of both German and English, written and spoken


• Strong communication skills


• Ability to work effectively in a team


• Strong organizational skills
