Cape Fear Valley Health System is seeking an experienced registered nurse for the Short Stay Surgery department in Fayetteville, NC. This role plans and delivers professional nursing care and assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.

Required: RN licensure in NC or compact state, Associate's degree in nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum 1 year in Pre-Op/PACU/ICU; strong English communication, leadership and caregiving skills.

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:

Education and Formal Training :

• Associates Degree in Nursing required
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
• Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure
• Must complete Clinical Ladder packet and be approved for RN II, RN III, RN IV

Work Experience :

• Must have at least 1 year of Pre-Op, PACU or ICU experience.

• Has knowledge of the age-specific physiological and psychosocial, developmental and spiritual needs of the patients typically served

Physical Requirements :

• Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs
• Visual acuity for observation of patients
• Much standing, walking, bending, and lifting
• May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds
