Zusammenfassung

Omnia Projects, established in 2012, is a respected specialist in T&D engineering, project management and technical assurance. The Lead Project Controls Manager will oversee planning, cost, risk and reporting for electrical and infrastructure projects across the UK, including substation and renewable schemes.

You will drive analysis, governance, and decision-ready insights, while coaching teams and ensuring compliance with NEC4 and client requirements.

Qualifikationen

  • Degree or HNC in an engineering discipline or relevant experience.
  • 15+ years project controls experience in major infrastructure sectors (electrical transmission, renewables, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, cost management systems and reporting tools (Power BI, advanced Excel analytics).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Aufgaben

  • Lead assessment of client environments and deliver tailored controls solutions.

  • Facilitate workshops (virtual and in-person) and support planning and controls sessions with client reps.

Established in 2012, Omnia Projects is a respected specialist in T&D engineering, project management and technical assurance. With over 110 staff the company has delivered critical infrastructure for clients including National Grid, helping to shape the UK’s evolving energy system. Overview As a Lead Project Controls Manager, you will support our Client in the structured planning, monitoring and control of electrical engineering and infrastructure projects from feasibility through delivery and close-out. Projects are varied in size and complexity, including substations, OHL, HV cable systems, BESS and renewable generation schemes supporting the UK’s decarbonisation agenda. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team ensuring that programme, cost, risk and reporting functions are integrated, assured and delivered to the highest professional standard in accordance with Client, stakeholder and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead the assessment of client environments, identifying challenges and working collaboratively to design and deliver tailored solutions that achieve desired outcomes.
  • Oversee analysis, documentation, and reporting of findings and recommendations throughout client engagements.
  • Facilitate workshops (virtual and in-person) and support collaborative planning and controls sessions with client representatives.
  • Represent Omnia Projects within diverse, multi-disciplinary teams, building and maintaining professional relationships with clients, internal teams, and delivery partners.
  • Apply and adapt established methodologies, processes, and tools to suit specific client needs, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks (including NEC4 and client specific requirements).
  • Set up and manage fit-for-purpose project controls, including planning, cost, risk, and performance reporting, developing baselines, and integrating cost, schedule, and risk data.
  • Produce clear, decision-ready insights for senior stakeholders through dashboards, KPI packs, trend analysis, and forecasting.
  • Support change control, QSRA processes, and the development and management of Earned Value Management (EVM) where required.
  • Coach and support teams to build internal capability, improve consistency and quality across controls disciplines, and contribute to internal development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
  • 15+ years project controls experience within a major infrastructure sector (e.g., electrical transmission, distribution, renewables, nuclear, utilities), ideally on major capital projects or programmes.
  • Familiarity with PMO, controls, and performance functions, including capability assessments, integrated processes, and digital solutions that support informed decision making.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC4 contracts and experience operating in multi-contract, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, cost management systems, and reporting tools such as Power BI and advanced Excel analytics.
  • Solid understanding of Earned Value Management principles, interface/integration management, and advanced analytical and reporting skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Degree or HNC in an engineering discipline, or relevant experience.
  • Must already have the Right to Work in the UK or be able to secure this prior to commencement of the role.
  • Location Hybrid between Home Based and Client Offices in Carrington, with the option of working from Omnia offices (Stafford, Stockton Heath, Northallerton), as pre project requirements. Working Hours Full time (40h) Package Competitive Salary, plus discretionary bonus. All overtime payable or time off in lieu (your choice) should you work more than this. 22 days holiday, plus bank holidays, Private Medical Insurance, Workplace Pension, Death in Service and Company car scheme.   • Charted Memberships (MRICS, APM etc)
  • Appropriate management qualification (i.e., APM; IPMA Level C and/or Prince2/PMP® certification)
  • Experience with writing/presenting reports and ability to navigate through complex stakeholder environments and engage (as required) with C-suite level, executive client teams.
  • Computer literacy in Office 365 applications, diagramming tools such as Visio, online whiteboarding tools such as Miro, team collaboration tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams or specialist controls & performance software tools such as Oracle Primavera, Planview, PMO365, Power BI or similar.
