UNDP Bonn is seeking a Recruitment Assistant to support transparent recruitment operations for Country Offices. You will handle vacancy announcements, applicant screening, and candidate handover while adhering to UN/UNDP rules and promoting best practices.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) operates a Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC) to provide transactional, advisory, and support services worldwide. The HR services within the GSSC, established in Copenhagen, are recognized as a centre of excellence. In Bonn, this role supports the GSSC's outposted recruitment operations for Country Offices, reporting to the Recruitment Associate and Analyst.
The Recruitment Assistant in the GSSC RSC is responsible for supporting the transparent implementation of recruitment processes for Country Offices. This involves performing administrative tasks to ensure high-quality and accurate service delivery. The role contributes to providing advice to internal and external clients and managers on HR policies and services, promoting a client-oriented approach, and sharing best practices. The assistant plays a key role in managing recruitment activities, from vacancy announcements and applicant screening to candidate selection and handover for hiring, ensuring compliance with UN/UNDP regulations and contributing to corporate priorities like gender parity and workforce diversity.
Support the implementation of recruitment strategies by ensuring full compliance with UN/UNDP rules and regulations, and contributing to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for recruitment management. Provide high-quality recruitment services to enhance client trust. Assist in the end-to-end recruitment process, including reviewing strategies, vacancy announcements, screening applicants, evaluating applications, gathering references, organizing interviews, and finalizing selections. Communicate application outcomes to candidates and support the production of recruitment analytics reports, focusing on diversity and gender parity. Maintain and update recruitment tracking systems, ensure accurate data management in official databases, and contribute to candidate rosters. Support knowledge management for recruitment, selection, and placement matters, and assist in organizing training courses on local recruitments.
Secondary education is required. A university degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or International Relations is desirable but not mandatory. Fluency in English is required, with working knowledge of another UN language being an asset.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant HR and/or administrative experience (with a high school diploma) or 2 years (with a bachelor's degree) is required, preferably in recruitment at the national or international level. Proficiency in MS Office, collaboration tools, digital platforms, and cloud-based management systems (e.g., ERP) is essential. Experience with talent acquisition software, in an international organization, and with Power Apps/AI tools is desirable.
