Zusammenfassung

Amazon is seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager to drive innovation and expansion in its logistics network. You will manage deployment projects across MEU/EU, leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time, within-budget launches of automation and MHE solutions.

You will plan, budget, and oversee project lifecycles, applying Lean Six Sigma methods, with a focus on standardization and efficiency.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge and process-improvement methods.
  • German and English at C1 level or higher.
  • Industrial/Mechanical/Process Engineering background.
  • PM of complex cross-functional projects.
  • Lifecycle management: budgeting, vendor tendering, handover.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • AutoCAD or similar design tool experience.
  • KPI reporting using Power BI.

Amazon is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands‑on, and customer‑obsessed Project Engineering Manager that can drive innovation, standardization and expansion in the Amazon logistics (AMZL) network.

As a member of the MEU Field Engineering team you will be responsible for managing a broad range of exciting deployment projects including new launches, Automated solutions, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) re‑layouts and other building retrofit improvements.

Key job responsibilities
  • Managing highly complex concurrent projects related to the deployment of engineering solutions in delivery stations of MEU Amazon Logistics (AMZL) network
  • Owning a program or a portfolio of projects related to launches or retrofits of different technology types including Automation, Material Handling Equipment or other building improvement projects
  • Leading the whole project/program lifecycle from concept and budgeting creation to handover at completion to relevant stakeholders
  • Handling independently or with minimal guidance different tactical phases of the projects/program. This may include dealing with substantial constraints related to resource allocation, capex and timelines linked to business requirements
  • Interacting with Senior level management across different functions to provide trade off solutions that satisfy potential conflicts
  • Identifying inefficiencies of processes or standards within the allocated country or at European level and proactively leading improvements with the relevant teams
A day in the life

You will plan and manage execution of engineering projects in AMZL delivery stations primarily across MEU or EU if required. Your day could include cross‑functional engagement within the organization to agree program strategy, attend the site to monitor deployment progresses, plan and manage resources to execute activities according to business goals, enable efficient mechanisms to handover to customers. You will make strategic decisions on behalf of the business and see the outcome come to fruition through coordination of stakeholders, both internal and third party, and finally celebrating in the successful launch of the project… Day One for all of us!

The MEU Field Engineering team is comprised of a talented and diverse group of project and program managers who drive coordination of all activities required to safely build complex solutions across the AMZL network. Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Experience working with multiple groups of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and process improvement methodologies
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in German and English at C1 level or above
  • Working experience in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent
  • Working experience as Project Manager of multiple complex projects or as Program manager
  • Working experience in managing project/program lifecycle on cross‑functional aspects (i.e. Budget creation, vendor tendering, execution, handover to customer mechanisms etc.)
  • Proficiency in planning and analysis tools: Excel & Microsoft Project or similar
  • Proficiency in engineering design tools: AutoCAD or similar
  • Experience in the commissioning of automated machinery and entire systems
  • Experience in working with analysis tools for KPI reporting (i.e. PowerBI or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Experience demonstrating strong analytical abilities and confidence in the use of data
  • Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication
  • Experience with working within Logistics Automated environment
  • Ability to communicate across an increasing diversity of areas (i.e. legal, Operations, Finance, Safety, regulatory, external industry groups, etc.)
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced and ambiguous environment,
