Gisma University of Applied Sciences in Potsdam sucht eine/n Professor/in für Datenwissenschaft mit Lehrverpflichtungen und Forschungsschwerpunkt in einem der Teilbereiche wie predictive modeling, statistische Analyse oder Datenvisualisierung.

Sie bringen exzellente wissenschaftliche Leistungen, mehrjährige außeruniversitäre Berufserfahrung nach dem Master sowie Erfahrung in Hochschullehre und Curriculum-Entwicklung mit.

Qualifikationen

• Abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium.
• Nachweis außergewöhnlicher wissenschaftlicher Leistungen durch Promotion und/oder Publikationen.
• Mindestens drei Jahre berufliche Erfahrung außerhalb der Universität nach dem Masterabschluss.
• Erfahrung im Hochschullehre, Blended/Online‑Lehre, positive Lehrbewertungen.
• Hohe Affinität zu Informatikthemen.

Aufgaben

• Modulverantwortung und Lehre der Bachelor- und Masterprogramme, Prüfungen und Betreuung.
• Mitwirkung bei Studiengangsentwicklung und Qualitätssicherung.
• Konzeption und Anpassung von Lehr- und Lernmaterialien.
• Aufbau und Pflege Kooperationen mit Industrie und Forschung.
• Mitarbeit an Akkreditierungsverfahren.
• Aktive Mitwirkung in akademischer Verwaltung und Gremienarbeit.
• Weiterentwicklung der eigenen Forschungsprofile, Publikationen und Verbreitung.
• Teilnahme an Studierendenrecruiting-Veranstaltungen.

Jobbeschreibung

• Module responsibility and teaching of Gisma Bachelor and Master programmes as well as examination, assessments, and student supervision.
• Active participation in programme development and quality assurance.
• Conception, creation and adaptation of teaching and learning materials.
• Initiate, expand and maintain cooperation with partners in industry and research.
• Participation in accreditation procedures as needed.
• Active participation in academic administration and committee work.
• Further development of a personal research profile, publication of results, and other public dissemination activities.
• Participation in student recruitment events.

Your profile

• For an appointment you will need to fulfill all requirements according to Section 42 ff of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG).

Among others the requirements for professorship are:

• Completed university studies.
• Proof of extraordinary qualification for scientific work in the form of an outstanding doctorate and/or outstanding scientific publications.
• Qualified professional experience in the field of the professorship, at least three years, two of them outside of a university after having obtained a master’s degree or equivalent.
• You are experienced in teaching in university classrooms, with blended and online approaches. Your students confirm in their evaluations an excellent quality of teaching and pedagogical aptitude.
• You have a high affinity for computer science topics.

You have strong expertise in core areas of data science, with specialized knowledge in at least one subfield, such as predictive modeling, statistical analysis, or data visualization.

You demonstrate practical proficiency with modern programming languages, frameworks, and state-of-the-art tools and technologies commonly used in the industry, such as Python, R, SQL, Pandas, Jupyter, or Tableau.

• You are internationally experienced and fluent in English for teaching and research purposes.
• You possess research experience, ideally including the acquisition of funding.
• You will provide new innovative directions for research and teaching.
• Ideally, you are experienced in curriculum development and accreditation processes.
