DAZN is seeking a Production Manager (Live Events) in Munich/Ismaning to lead on-site delivery of Bundesliga and domestic productions, reporting to the Senior Production Manager and coordinating with freelance crews.

You will manage crew setup, technical checks, rehearsals, and coordinate with venue operations, federation partners, and external stakeholders, while upholding health and safety and broadcast standards.

Description

The Production Manager (Live Events) is an integral part of DAZN's live event production team in the DACH region, working closely with and supporting the Senior Production Manager across the full range of live productions. While contributing to the broader production operation, the Production Manager has a strong focus on Bundesliga and lower-tier domestic competitions, taking a leading role in the on-site delivery and external stakeholder relationships for these events.

The role is an important part of a collaborative production team, where the Senior Production Manager provides overall leadership and direction across all productions — including Champions League and international events — and the Production Manager plays a key supporting and delivery role, particularly across domestic competitions.

This role is based in Munich, but will also spend time in our Ismaning office, as well as regular travel for football matches.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• On-Site Production Management: Take a leading role in the on-the-ground delivery of Bundesliga and domestic live productions, managing crew setup, technical checks, rehearsals, and live broadcast execution. Contribute to wider production delivery across other competitions as part of the broader team effort.
• Crew Coordination & Management: Support the coordination and management of freelance crews across live events, with a particular focus on Bundesliga productions. Assist with crew briefings, role assignments, and on-site performance, building strong working relationships with DAZN's freelance crew pool.
• External Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with venue operations teams, stadium management, and federation representatives for Bundesliga and domestic productions. Act as a reliable and professional point of contact for external partners on these competitions, working within the broader framework set by the Senior Production Manager.
• Federation Liaison – Bundesliga & Domestic: Build a close working relationship with DFL and relevant domestic federation contacts, handling day-to-day production-related topics including camera positions, commentary locations, access zones and technical infrastructure matters.
• Broader Production Support: Actively contribute to Champions League and international productions led by the Senior Production Manager, providing on-site production support and expertise where needed.
• Quality & Standards: Play an active role in ensuring productions meet DAZN's broadcast quality standards across camera coverage, audio, graphics, and overall production values. Contribute to post-event reviews and feedback processes, helping to identify and implement improvements.
• Problem Resolution: Be a dependable first responder for on-site production challenges during Bundesliga and domestic events, handling issues such as crew unavailability, equipment failures, or venue access problems with composure and good judgement.
• Health & Safety: Ensure all production activities comply with health and safety regulations at venues, including crew welfare, equipment safety, and venue‑specific protocols.
• Reporting: Provide post-event production reports to the Senior Production Manager, covering delivery quality, crew performance, logistical observations, and budget variances.

What You’ll Bring:

• 3–5 years of experience in live sports broadcast production, with hands‑on experience in on‑site production management or a similar delivery-focused role
• Experience working on live sports productions at top‑tier venues, ideally including Bundesliga stadiums or equivalent.
• Experience working alongside or coordinating freelance production crews across live events.
• A good understanding of venue operations and federation requirements, particularly within the Bundesliga and DFL environment.
• Good working knowledge of live broadcast production technology and workflows — cameras, audio, replay, graphics, and connectivity.
• Familiarity with OB unit operations and remote production setups.
• Working knowledge of health and safety requirements for live broadcast production environments.
• Fluent German language proficiency is essential, with strong English skills for broader team and stakeholder communication.
• Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Calm and composed under the pressure of live broadcast environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with freelance crews and external stakeholders.
• A collaborative team player who is equally comfortable taking ownership of tasks independently.
• Adaptable and at ease with travel, irregular hours, and the demands of live event production.
• Credible and professional in representing DAZN at venues and with external partners
• Comfortable taking ownership of productions and stakeholder relationships within an agreed scope.
