Zertificon Solutions – Software Manufacturer since 2004.
We are IT security specialists: our products encrypt business communications. More than 25% of the 100 highest-revenue companies in Germany, as well as hundreds of medium-sized enterprises across all industries, already use our Z1 encryption solutions. We have big plans and continue to grow steadily. Nearly 140 employees are already working with us in Neukölln. You join our product management team and, together with the product owner who steers it today, take on our development squad forinternal operational services. The range of topics and dependencies there has grown beyond what one person can carry. Between you, you cover our self-writtenOperations Interface for customers, contracts, orders, subscriptions, and SaaS instance management; the platforms our teams work in day to day, such as SugarCRM and Zammad; and the middleware and backend services behind them. Perspectively, as the squad grows, we intend to split it into two teams so that each of you steers one.
Those same systems carry much of ourSaaS business, which runs the whole way from a purchase on our website through onboarding, automated instance creation, and initial system setup to the ongoing management of customer instances and their updates. That pipeline crosses several teams, and we are establishing central product ownership for it: one person who holds the end-to-end view, brings the cross-team topics to the table, drives them with the respective product owners and our DevOps specialists. You run it day to day, in close alignment with our head of product, who stays involved where decisions have a major impact on the business.
Every requirement you work on comes from inside the company—from Operations, Sales, Finance, Support, C-level, or the Product Owners of other squads. You will coordinate across teams constantly, but you will not be sitting with customers: the customer-facing surfaces are owned by colleagues, and your job is to work with them, not to present roadmaps externally.

Your tasks

Internal tools and business services

• Own the internal tooling side of the squad. You and your co-product owner divide the topics, keep the dependencies between your areas visible, and cover for each other. Your co-product owner brings workflow, process and company knowledge; you bring a second pair of hands and a fresh look at workflows that have grown over time.
• Turn internal needs into requirements. Operations wants a faster way to work with invoices. Business introduces a subscription model that has to map onto our licensing logic. Support needs to see the state of a SaaS instance without asking a developer. You dig into what people actually need and translate it into technical concepts, epics, stories, and mockups.
• Consolidate and simplify. We are bringing offer and proposal creation together into our core tools rather than maintaining separate ones. You drive that kind of consolidation—fewer manual steps, fewer places where data lives twice.
• Automate, document, and make progress visible. You identify the manual steps worth automating and develop solutions for automation, monitoring, and alerting with the team. You keep a clean backlog, make moderate refinements, maintain technical documentation of internal logic, data models, and states together with development and QA, and think in KPIs.

SaaS, end-to-end

• Be the person to go to. You take over coordination of our SaaS pipeline: you own the regular cross-team round, bring the topics that span several teams into it, follow them up with the respective product owners and DevOps specialists, and drive decisions when a decision is needed.
• Think in the whole chain. Purchase, onboarding, instance creation, notification, initial setup, ongoing management, updates – you keep the end-to-end view, spot where a hand-off between two teams needs sharpening, and get it addressed with the right people.
• Keep our SaaS operations demonstrable. How our customer instances are configured, licensed, and operated has to be provable—for our compliance commitments and for our customers' own audits. You organize those discussions, translate the requirements into development issues, and track them to done.

Your profile

• You want an internal role. You would rather sit down with Operations or Finance and dig into how they really work than present a roadmap to a customer. Internal stakeholders are your users, and saying no to a request that doesn't fit the bigger picture is part of the job.
• You can coordinate without formal authority. Much of the SaaS work means moving topics forward across squads you do not lead. You are comfortable chasing dependencies, holding people to agreements, escalating when it is genuinely needed, and sharing a squad with a second product owner without turning it into territory.
• Product ownership experience. At least 3 years in a comparable role—ideally with internal systems, business logic, or subscription and licensing models in B2B software. What counts for us is experience with virtual products and software subscriptions; classic ERP or physical product logic (SKU, RMA, logistics) is a different world from ours.
• SaaS understanding. You know roughly how a SaaS operation hangs together—provisioning, instance lifecycle, updates, backups—and you have seen a pipeline like this from the inside, even if you did not run it.
• System understanding. You are comfortable with data models, REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, and microservices—without developing them yourself. You can follow, describe, and work with these structures in a product context.
• Process thinking. You think in workflows, states, and handovers, and you can give structure to messy complexity.
• Tools. Jira and Confluence for requirements and documentation, Figma for mockups.
• Languages. Confident in German or English (C1+), with at least B2+ in the other.
