Zusammenfassung

BENEO, part of the Südzucker Group, in Mannheim, is seeking an experienced product manager to analyze market data, support strategic decisions, and drive portfolio development for functional ingredients across human and animal nutrition.

You will coordinate product lifecycle, maintain master data, collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Regulatory and R&D, and contribute to profitable pricing decisions. International travel may be required.

Qualifikationen

• Completed studies in Food Technology, Bioindustrial Sciences or similar.
• Professional experience in product management, sales or marketing of functional food ingredients.
• Strong customer orientation and ability to work independently.

Your Tasks

• Gather and analyze product, customer, and market data, in order to support strategic decision-making (including business cases for new product development) and portfolio development.
• Evaluate market trends, competitor products and customer feedback, in order to identify gaps and derive market-driven portfolio adjustments.
• Coordinate product lifecycle activities (e.g., introductions, discontinuations, specifications), in order to ensure timely and efficient execution.
• Maintain accurate product documentation and master data, in order to ensure reliable information flow across commercial and operational functions.
• Track and report on product performance (volumes, margins, cost prices), in order to identify deviations, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Support the pricing process by preparing analyses (including competition data), cost-in-use calculations and recommendations, in order to contribute to profitable pricing decisions and margin management.
• Act as Product Owner and specialist, serving as the key interface between Sales, Marketing, Technical Applications, Regulatory, Science and other product lines, as well as an intermediary between BENEO and industry partners.
• Act as first point of contact for sales teams on product-related topics, in order to provide guidance, enable effective customer communication and inspire the sales team for new business opportunities.
• Oversee and challenge the sales project pipeline; support selected customer meetings, projects and customer innovation days together with sales.
• Lead, coordinate, execute and follow up BENEO sales campaigns together with expert departments; set up and coordinate training of internal and external sales staff.
• Follow up internal project milestones and support cross-functional coordination with Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain/Demand Planning and Regulatory teams, in order to ensure product readiness, availability and compliance.
• Coordinate and create product-related content for internal communication, strategic projects and external messaging; support internal and customer presentations on product content and analysis.
• Represent the product portfolio at fairs and conferences; represent a management perspective in relevant meetings as required.
• Own and coordinate the process for Trademark License Agreements with customers.
• Align and coordinate within the product management team and consolidate expert input across Science, Technical Applications, Regulatory and Marketing.

Your Profile

• Completed studies in Food Technology, Bioindustrial Sciences or similar
• Some years of professional experience in product management, sales or marketing of functional food ingredients
• Good technical and nutritional understanding
• Strongly customer oriented
• Business fluent English skills, German and other languages are plus
• Result oriented thinking with a desire to achieve goals
• Ability to work independently and in a structured manner
• High level of contact skills, confidence and ability to work in a team across the organization in different hierarchies.
• Flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to international travel
