JOB OPPORTUNITY
Product Manager
Consumer Marketplace & B2B Clinical Products

DEPARTMENT: Product
REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer
EMPLOYMENT: Full-time
LOCATION: Washington DC, Northern Virginia Region (HYBRID)

About Herewith

Herewith is a technology-enabled care platform connecting families and clinical partners with trusted Helpers for in-home support and care services. Our product serves a multi-sided marketplace as well as B2B clinical partners, creating meaningful experiences for Families, Helpers, partner teams, and the internal teams that support them.

The Opportunity

Herewith is seeking a Product Manager to own the product lifecycle from discovery and requirements through delivery, release acceptance, and adoption. This person will turn customer, partner, operational, and business needs into clear product decisions and build-ready requirements across web, mobile web, iOS, and Android.

This is a hands-on product management role. The Product Manager owns product strategy, prioritization, requirements, delivery decisions, and product outcomes. The role partners with Data/Business Intelligence for analysis and reporting; it does not own recurring business reporting, investor reporting, dashboard production, database querying, or standalone data-analysis work.

What You Will Own
1. Product Discovery and Strategy
  • Lead product discovery through customer feedback, stakeholder interviews, workflow observation, support insights, and commercial needs.
  • Define product problems, desired outcomes, scope, and priorities in partnership with executive leadership.
  • Maintain a clear roadmap that balances the consumer marketplace, operational needs, platform health, and B2B commitments.
  • Evaluate product decisions across Families, Helpers, Customer Support, clinical partners, and internal users.
2. Requirements and Product Documentation
  • Write complete product requirements documents, including problem framing, goals, scope, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, edge cases, dependencies, and release considerations.
  • Specify platform differences across web, mobile web, iOS, and Android, including SMS, push, email, and in-app notification behavior where applicable.
  • Partner closely with Product Design to ensure each workflow resolves the underlying business logic before development begins.
  • Maintain product documentation standards and a reliable, current source of truth for product decisions.
3. Roadmap, Backlog, and Delivery
  • Translate approved requirements into sprint-ready stories with focused acceptance criteria.
  • Own backlog prioritization and participate actively in refinement, planning, reviews, retrospectives, and release coordination.
  • Partner with Engineering on feasibility, estimation, sequencing, dependencies, and scope trade-offs.
  • Surface delivery risks early, make timely product decisions, and keep stakeholders aligned on changes to scope or timing.
4. Quality, Acceptance, and Release Readiness
  • Define product acceptance scenarios and prioritized user-acceptance test coverage for each release.
  • Conduct UAT with QA, Engineering, Design, Customer Support, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Document failures with reproducible evidence, confirm retests, and provide final product acceptance before release.
  • Contribute to release notes, internal readiness, and post-release follow-through.
5. B2B and Internal Product Workflows
  • Own product direction for partner and clinic onboarding, partner portals, shift review and approval, permissions, and multi-user workflows.
  • Define product requirements for rate structures, partner hierarchies, billing models, payment resolution, and incomplete-service scenarios.
  • Shape internal product workflows and automation requirements with Operations and Engineering, while leaving database administration, reporting, and data-quality auditing with the appropriate technical or data owner.
  • Create clear partner-facing product documentation for non-technical clinical audiences.
6. Integrations and Platform Behavior
  • Lead the product requirements for third-party integrations, including identity and background checks, payments, messaging, email, employment services, video, and analytics tooling.
  • Define the intended user experience, gating logic, failure states, fallback behavior, permissions, and reconciliation requirements for each integration.
  • Partner with Engineering and vendors to resolve product-impacting integration issues and communicate resulting decisions.
7. Product Measurement and Experimentation
  • Define the product outcome, success metrics, guardrails, and instrumentation requirements for each meaningful feature or experiment.
  • Frame product hypotheses and work with Design on testable variants that address a defined user or business problem.
  • Partner with Data/Business Intelligence to validate metric definitions, determine statistical requirements, analyze results, and confirm data quality.
  • Use validated findings to make and document the product decision to ship, iterate, pause, or stop.
8. Adoption, Enablement, and Product Feedback
  • Lead product demonstrations and walkthroughs for Sales, Customer Support, Operations, and B2B partners.
  • Stay engaged after launch to understand adoption barriers, workflow friction, and unintended product consequences.
  • Translate recurring customer and partner feedback into prioritized product improvements.
  • Coordinate product escalations by clarifying user impact, expected behavior, priority, and acceptance of the resulting fix; technical investigation remains with Engineering or the designated data owner.
Functional Ownership Boundaries

The Product Manager is accountable for product decisions and outcomes, with clear partnership boundaries:

  • Product owns: problem definition, roadmap, prioritization, requirements, acceptance criteria, product trade-offs, release acceptance, adoption, and product outcome decisions.
  • Data/Business Intelligence owns: recurring executive and investor reporting; revenue, retention, engagement, supply-and-demand, cluster, and geographic analysis; dashboard and report construction; data-quality audits; direct database queries; CRM attribution reporting; experiment sizing and statistical analysis.
  • Engineering owns: technical architecture, implementation approach, production root-cause investigation, database administration, and system reliability.
  • Product Design owns: user research methods, interaction design, visual design, prototypes, and design-system quality, in close partnership with Product.
  • QA owns: testing discipline, test execution infrastructure, and defect verification; Product owns business acceptance and release sign-off.
Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of product management experience in a software, SaaS, marketplace, or platform environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead discovery, write high-quality PRDs and acceptance criteria, prioritize a backlog, and deliver across an agile product-development lifecycle.
  • Experience shipping coordinated experiences across web and mobile products.
  • Strong judgment in balancing user value, business value, operational impact, technical constraints, and time-sensitive commercial commitments.
  • Experience partnering effectively with Product Design, Engineering, QA, Customer Support, Sales, and Operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex product behavior to non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort defining product metrics and instrumentation requirements and working with analysts to interpret results; advanced data-analysis or SQL ownership is not required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with a multi-sided marketplace, healthcare technology, care delivery, or other regulated service environment.
  • Experience with B2B partner portals, permissions, payments, billing logic, or complex third-party integrations.
  • Working familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM-supported operational workflows.
  • Experience supporting products used by both consumers and operational or clinical teams.
What Success Looks Like
  • Roadmap priorities are explicit, current, and tied to defined customer or business outcomes.
  • Requirements are build-ready, business rules are resolved before development, and avoidable rework decreases.
  • Engineering receives timely product decisions, releases move through UAT predictably, and post-launch friction is identified and addressed quickly.
  • Herewith's consumer and B2B products become more reliable, scalable, and easier for customers, partners, and internal teams to use.
Equal Employment Opportunity

Herewith is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.
