Statkraft is seeking a SCADA-focused engineer to design and review monitoring and control systems for utility-scale renewable energy plants, with emphasis on Germany. You will liaise with regional teams, grid operators, and suppliers to ensure compliant, reliable SCADA solutions across Europe.

The role requires experience in SCADA design, IEC protocols, and industrial networks, plus German and English fluency.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in engineering or similar technical field.
• Experience of SCADA system design and application.
• Knowledge of HV Substation Network and protocols (IEC 60870, IEC 61850).
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix basics and secure remote access.

Aufgaben

• Design and review SCADA monitoring and control systems for renewable energy projects, especially in Germany.
• Act as lead coordinator with regional engineering and procurement teams for SCADA hardware selection.
• Coordinate with Grid Operators and Market Agents for grid code compliance testing.
• Support regional PM and field teams during construction and commissioning phases.
• Produce SCADA handover documentation for O&M and Asset Management.

Job Description

This role is a SCADA-focused role working with the CentralProcess Control Engineeringteam and supporting regional design and delivery teams in the design, delivery and commissioning of communications and SCADA systems for monitoring and control of utility scale Renewable Energy Plants and Grid Services projects across Europe, but with particular focus on projects in Germany.

Key activities and responsibilities:

• Design and review of SCADA monitoring and control systems for utility scale Renewable Energy plants and Grid Services projects, particularly in Germany
• Actas lead coordinator for Regional Engineering and procurement teams in the specification and selection of SCADA hardware and relevant suppliers
• Workwith regional Project Management and Engineering teams to coordinate with external parties such as Grid Operators and Market Agents for activities such as grid code compliance testing
• Supportregional Project Management and field teams during construction and commissioning phases of the projects
• ProduceSCADA handover documentation for O&M and Asset Management teams
• SupportO&M and Asset Management teams during operational phase of the projects
• Liaisewith manufacturers throughout all relevant stages of the project
• Participatein Statkraft internal Expert Groups tomaintaintechnical specifications and standards up to date
• Maintainup to date knowledge of developments within the SCADA industry, bringing new developments for review and whereappropriate applyingthem into new projects

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering or similar technical field
• Experience of SCADA system design and application
• Knowledge of Communication Networks, Cybersecurity, Interfaces, and Industrial Communication Protocols
• Knowledge of HV Substation Network and protocols used: IEC 60870, IEC 61850. Integration into third party SCADA and real time data exchange with Grid Operator
• Experience in working with UtilityScalePowerPlant controllers
• Understanding of electrical and control diagrams. Positive knowledge of CAD tools
• Experience in PV, Wind and Energy Storage SCADA design and operation
• Experience in the Renewable Energy industry in a technical,engineeringor analysis role
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix basic commands over console
• Remote access using secure shell (SSH) and RDP
• Knowledge of Modbus TCP/IP and RTU protocols, and tools such asmodpollandmodbuspoll
• Basic knowledge about PLCs and Hybrid Controllers is desirable. Knowledge about communications hardware such as Serial to Ethernet Gateways, Switches, Analogue and DIOmodulesand Fibre converters
• Fluency in German and English isrequiredfor this role
