About The role
We are seeking a Private Equity Data Associate / Senior Associate to join our Data Strategy team.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong private markets knowledge who enjoy working at the intersection of finance, data, technology, and client engagement. You will help institutional investors and fund managers structure, analyze, validate, and visualize investment data while contributing to the evolution of CEPRES' data and analytics capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Private Markets Data & Analytics
- Analyze and validate Private Equity, Private Debt, Real Estate, and Infrastructure investment data.
- Review fund cash flows, NAVs, portfolio company metrics, and performance measures, including IRR, TVPI, DPI, and MOIC.
- Support data quality, taxonomy, and reporting framework development.
- Investigate and resolve complex data issues and client queries.
Client Management & Delivery
- Act as a key contact for institutional investors and GP relationships.
- Lead discussions around data requirements, onboarding, reporting, and data quality topics.
- Translate client needs into scalable data and reporting solutions.
- Support strategic client onboarding and implementation projects.
Data Engineering & Visualization
- Query and analyze large datasets using SQL.
- Design reports and dashboards in Power BI.
- Develop data models, visualizations, and analytical outputs for both internal and client-facing use.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to enhance reporting capabilities.
AI & Process Innovation
- Explore the application of AI and automation across private markets data workflows.
- Contribute to process optimization and data-driven operational improvements.
- Support the development of scalable analytics and next-generation client solutions.
Leadership (Senior Associate)
- Mentor junior team members.
- Lead work streams and cross-functional initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement across data quality and operational processes.
Requirements
Required Background & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Associate: 2–5 years of relevant experience.
- Senior Associate: 5+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Private Equity, Private Debt, Fund Administration, Investment Operations, Performance Analytics, or Alternative Investments.
- Client-facing experience within financial services or data-driven environments.
Technical Skills
- Power BI or similar visualization tools.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Data modeling and analytical problem-solving skills.
