Zusammenfassung

DWS is seeking a Principal Engineer to set the technical vision and architectural direction for our data platforms. You will own end-to-end architecture and key decisions across ingestion through distribution, setting engineering standards and mentoring senior engineers.

Collaboration with security, data governance, and product teams will ensure compliant, reliable platforms. You will drive the long-term roadmap in partnership with technology leadership, shaping platform capabilities and data

Qualifikationen

• 12+ years in platform engineering, ideally on enterprise data platforms
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or similar is a plus
• Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and attention to detail are essential
• Fluent English, written and spoken

• DWS’s data infrastructure team provides the secure, scalable, and trustworthy foundation for storing, processing, and distributing critical enterprise data
• As Principal Engineer, you will set the technical vision and architectural direction for our strategic data platforms, shaping decisions that influence multiple teams and critical business capabilities
• You’ll lead through technical authority, define engineering standards, mentor senior engineers, and contribute directly to architecture and key implementation decisions
• Define the long-term technical vision and roadmap for the data platform in partnership with the Head of Technology and architecture leadership
• Own the end-to-end architecture and key technical decisions across the platform and its supporting systems, from ingestion through distribution
• Set and evolve engineering standards for platform infrastructure, data modeling, testing, observability, and lineage
• Mentor senior and staff engineers through design leadership, code reviews, and hands on technical guidance
• Collaborate with architects, security engineers, control functions, the Chief Data Office, and other stakeholders to improve compliance, security posture, and reliability
• Work with product owners and internal customers to translate product vision and demand into platform capabilitie
