The group of Prof. Dr. Dr.MoritzKöster at the Institute of Psychology studies the neurocognitive foundations of early brain development. Within a project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the group investigates the functional role of rhythmic brain activity in early development, following the trajectory from integrating novel information and building visual object representations in infancy towards efficient processing in mature cortical networks. We address this across age groups and by relating EEG to fMRI data, among others through representational similarity analyses. Within the project we collaborate with Prof. Dr.RhodriCusack (Trinity College Dublin, infant awake fMRI) and Prof. Dr.RadoslawM.Cichy (FreieUniversität Berlin, EEG/fMRI fusion). Work on the analyses can start immediately on the basis of first datasets, and there is ample room to bring in your own ideas and research questions. The position carries no teaching load.
