Zusammenfassung

Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg seeks a postdoctoral researcher in Wearable and Ubiquitous Computing to lead embedded AI and IoT projects. You will develop context recognition algorithms and translate findings into biomedical or digital health applications, while contributing to teaching at Bachelor, Master and PhD levels.

Qualifikationen

  • PhD in computer science, embedded systems, electrical engineering or related disciplines.
  • Research and leadership experience in wearable and ubiquitous computing.
  • Scientific publications, patent applications, external funding acquisition and teaching experience.
  • Independent, hands-on approach and excellent communication skills.
  • Keen interest in practical application of research findings.
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English, or a commitment to learn German.

Position

The successful candidate will lead research activities in embedded AI, wearable and ubiquitous computing and the Internet of Things (IoT). The role also involves supporting university teaching at Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD level in topics related to Wearable and Ubiquitous Computing.

Responsibilities

About the Intelligent Embedded Systems Lab

The research group works closely with Hahn‑Schickard and offers an open, multidisciplinary and multicultural environment with a wide range of research activities, including data science, biomedical data analysis, computer‑based 3D/4D modelling and embedded system design.

Collaborations with medical institutes, industry partners and spin‑offs translate research findings into practical applications. The lab operates state‑of‑the‑art laboratories, including electronics development, additive manufacturing and photometric systems, and dedicated servers for simulations and testing.

Application

This is a full‑time position with a start date immediately or by agreement. Remuneration is according to pay scale E13. Reduction in working hours is negotiable.
